Great episode but I believe next week's episode is a contender for 'best ever' - there are so many great plotlines ready to reach their climax.

This episode really made me enjoy the Night's Watch part of the story for the first time. Fantastic.
Yeah last night's episode I can definitely say was one of the best of the season.

Rjinn - Just an FYI on Stannis and his "religion"

1. he abandoned the Seven when he was something like 10. So his adoption of the Red God isn't that crazy.

2. He burned Florent because he disobeyed an order. Yeah, it was to tear down his idols (the Seven) but when you play ball with Stannis, as he did as well as Renley - you know what you're getting.

its one of the reasons I like him. Everyone else succumbs to their impulses. Honor, Lust, Vanity, Ego...Stannis adheres to the law. Can he be blinded by that? Sure. Once he's determined a course of action, he takes it by any means necessary, but there's never any duplicity - unless its in war. But that's how he sunk the Greyjoy fleet. Alls fair in war, they say.

Spoiler for Spoils:
I agree mostly Big3 but burning of infidels started before Florent which is under his rule. It is essentially a rule constituted that kills innocent people because of blind faith. I mostly look at Stannis and his situation the way Davos sees it.

However, this isn't a reason why I tend to dislike characters. Actually most of the characters I like have done morally questionable things. It mostly depends on the quality they add to the story, and progression of their characters.

Stannis isn't the perfect king, but Davos is the perfect hand.
