Honestly, this isn't bad news for me. With a new director and certainly a determination on Disney's part not to screw it up (they're in this for the long hall, and know people want quality, or at entertaining films), and most importantly NO input from Lucas, the new films could be a decent way of bringing Star Wars into the next generation properly.

Yeah but so is a half-sh
it half-vomit sandwich when compared tot he prequel films, it still wasn't that great of a film, at least for me and a few people I know.
I'm definitely with you on your other point though, I definitely think this could be the thing the Star Wars fans are desperate for. So many places to go, so many extended universe stories to choose, the sky's the limit.
