I wasn't that into video game until GTA 3 just changed my life. Played the **** out of every major GTA release since then, and almost every other open world game I could find as well. However, I did have a PSX, and I loved some Crash Team Racing, Twisted Metal and the Spider-Man games.

I'm sure there were others, but a lot of that **** was forgettable.

Twisted Metal was the ****. I forgot to mention that series

Driver was a solid open world PSX game.

N64 without a doubt. Best memories of my life. I had both though. PSX was fun too.

I had both consoles, and loved both of them to bits, but I gotta go with N64. The deciding factor is Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It's still my favourite game experience ever, even if numerous replays has made me not wanting to touch the game ever again, lol. Add to that Super Mario 64 and Banjo-Kazooie, and you have some incredible games. Also I enjoyed Goldeneye 007. For the PSX I loved the Tomb Raider series (especially the first game), the first two Wipeout games, and the three Final Fantasy main series games, Resident Evil 1&2, and Ridge Racer, plus more. So quantity-wise, I should go with PSX, but Zelda is pure magic to me. Regardless, they are probably my two favourite consoles ever, with Megadrive a close third.

Edit: Oh, by the way, I never got that RAM add-on for N64, so I couldn't enjoy a few games they way they were meant to be enjoyed, but I bought Banjo-Tooie on X360 not too long ago, and had a blast with that game, even if it was old.

Oh, and I loved the first Turok on N64 as well, one of the best shooters ever.

PSX hands down. Being a huge RPG fanatic I can't see myself being swayed in any other direction. Admittedly I do love Zelda, but PSX just had basically everything - Final Fantasy, Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Breath of Fire, Brave Fencer Musashi, Grandia, Harvest Moon, Legend of Dragoon, Legend of Legaia, Soul Reaver, Parasite Eve, Persona, Tales of Destiny, Wildarms, Vagrant Story, Valkyrie Profiles.

I mean, sure Nintendo has some pretty good popular titles, but they never had the depth and wealth of games that playstation has.

Same, and to expand on that RPG list: Suikoden I & II, Arc the Lad I-III, Dragon Warrior VII, Front Mission 3, Legend of Mana

The depth of RPGs was amazing.

I had both, but liked the n64 more back in the day. It was the multiplayer-console of choice - Mario Kart, Goldeneye, etc. There were some great exclusives. That said, I really fell in love with the Resident Evil series on PS1, and all the great retro-game compilations that started coming out (Williams, Atari, Konami, etc).

I ended up selling my n64 collection a while back, but I still have my PS1, and I'll pick up an occasional PS1 game to this day. So these days I like the PS1 better just due to the size and variety of the library.

Nintendo shot themself in the foot with the nasty gamecube controller.
Bah, the Gamecube controller is one of the most comfortable controllers ever. It's great. Devs only had problems porting to Gamecube due to the lack of RAM, the proprietary discs that only held 1.5gb, and Nintendo's unfriendly submission processes. It's pretty comparable to the ps2 & xbox in almost every respect. One or two less buttons on the GC controller was the least of the problems. If your game was designed to be cross-platform it wasn't a big deal. Trying to port an Xbox exclusive to ps2 would present similar challenges.
