It's too pointed not to mean something. I'm guessing it'll somehow make sense later on. His getting off right when the other dude got on definitely implies a link.

personally i really liked this first issue and will dive headstrong into he series (thank you Batlord )

so while agree with both of you on the guy on the train with the briefcase.....i get the feeling that he is simply an agent (or angel) of revenge....the real question (for me at least) is why her?

while i agree with you about the language....i kind of got use to it and ended up even having a bit of fun with it

i actually just went back to look at that page with the "sixty tray. All day." comment....i can't decided if this is to her or the man with the briefcase....and whether it's a warning or a proclamation....either way i think it will be addressed

anyways....the art is top notch and personally i like the writing and the intrigue and so far the two "main" characters have really peaked my interest

and i agree that the conversation in the garage was just a bit to quick to be ignored

so i was really hoping Fatale would be picked....i'm just a sucker for time warping noir with Lovecraftian characters (and i've been meaning to read these books for over a year)....but i have to admit that this really struck some interest and i'm on board 100% to the end

Well, whether or not he's going to play any part other than the guy who gives her the gun/bullets, his "deal" is too morally charged for him to simply be that. With the whole theme of the destructive nature of violence, this is going to be more about how her using the bullets will affect her than it is going to be about just revenge. And that choice seems to imply Satan or God, or at least that he is a symbolic representation of that whole archetype. I'm sure there's going to be some terrible, existential price to be paid by somebody when this whole thing plays out.

I didn't want to look into it too much and ruin anything, but just from the barest of Google searches it sounds like that phrase might be gang-related in real life. No idea what it actually means though.

Damn you, Janz!

i did the same search and other than references to this comic found a couple of "gangsta" twitter posts....so yeah

and i'm not saying that that character isn't pivotal....quite the opposite....i think these books will center around him....i'm just saying that she was given a gun and 100 untraceable bullets and all of the information about what was done to her....and that that is just the beginning

I feel awful because I'd spoil the soup if I responded as I've read 100 bullets a few times. It's not till the upper issues that I fell off the reading wagon. It wasn't the story either just got busy.
Im glad you guys are into it.

Well that's what you get for picking a series that you've already read before. Now you get to sit back and watch while the rest of us spend more time talking about a series than reading it.

And as of yesterday it's been a week. Some people still haven't checked in, so should we extend the deadline, or just keep plowing on and let the slackers catch up? I'd really like to keep this moving along, but I don't want to leave behind people who really do want to participate.

I don't know about the whole series, at least for the club, since it's a hundred issues long and there are a lot of other series to read. I'd definitely be down to complete this arc though, and possibly go on farther. I think it's something like five or six issues, which sounds like a decent amount of time to spend on one thing. And nothing says we can't move on to something else while the people still interested carry on and keep discussing it in this thread. But I guess it all depends on other people's opinions. I might be running the thread, but I won't dictate how it operates. If everyone wants to keep going for ten twenty or whatever issues then it's fine by me.

Well, I just bought a collection of issues 1-6 so I'm down for that. I'm also in favor of keeping it moving along. One issue every week to week and half seems super slow. I usually read one of these collections in an evening. If we could at least do more than an issue at a time it might be good.
