Super Cheesy Guilty Pleasure Movie?

Sweet Home Alabama

http://www.iceposter.com/thumbs/MOV_f3f3f955_b.jpg

Cliched story, overly sappy acting, got nailed by the majority of reviewers, and didn't last very long in theaters.

Yet if I'm channel surfing and come across it I'll watch every time. Must've seen it close to a dozen times by now.

Ya, but that's a universally acclaimed movie.

I know, but it's super cheesy. :D

Shanghai Knights.

Can't really explain it. Something about Shanghai Knights just thoroughly entertains me. I don't even like Shanghai Noon, but the sequel? It's my jam.

Jawbreaker!

Im reliving my childhood here :p:

This film was great, Children traveling in a magical bed, something about witches and the best part, the animated soccer part near the end of the film.

The movie itself is not that cheesy but the premise of it is, and its pretty f*ckin weird too. i remember some plot about Nazis then later on them talking to animated fishes under the sea, it's a pretty trippy film.

I'm with Francis, I like ****ty Rom Coms.

Also, from when I was a child. Idk if I'd appreciate it anymore:

Is that based on the Roald Dahl book?

I have no idea. I rarely read. It's about a group of witches that turn children into mice if that helps.

Yes, then. :D That's crazy I had no idea that book had been moviefied.

I don't know if I have a super cheesy guilty pleasure, but I recently re-watched the Kenan & Kel Halloween special (Two Heads are Better than None) for the millionth time to celebrate Halloween. That and Hocus Pocus.

This movie almost scarred me for life! I saw it at the cinema, I was 9 or so. I was terrified.

I must have seen it like 30 or so times already. I learned quite a bit of English from it, when I was 10 or so they played it at least once a week on TCM.
Still loving it.

Pretty In Pink is probably one of my top five moves. Not guilty, but very cheesy.

I think Pretty In Pink is the answer to the question, "Is it possible to be so eighties that it then becomes a felony?"

Speaking of the 80s, The Breakfast Club is another one I'll usually stop and watch.

jackhammer 10-30-2014 07:09 PM

Hell yeah but are they really cheesy? They are a national institution for any Brit over the age of 30!

One of the more recent films for me is:
https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/i...RjqBSQskN-gwtQ
A Karate Kid 25 years + later.

I can't drive and I have no real interest in cars but the Fast and Furious films are great fun. I know they are preposterous but I watch enough films and have enough knowledge of films to distance myself from any disdain you can throw at me.

Fucking Tremors, dude.

Pardon my French.

DwnWthVwls 02-08-2015 11:09 PM

I've only watched the first 3. I need to see the 4th and apparently there's a series.. Gotta get on that ish.

Chula Vista 02-09-2015 10:03 AM

First Tremors movies is great.

Earl Bassett: Dammit, Valentine! You never go for any girl unless she fits that stupid list of yours from top to bottom.

Valentine McKee: Well, sure.

Earl Bassett: Yeah, and it's dumber than my hind end! Like that Bobbie Lynn Dexter.

Valentine McKee: Tammy Lynn Baxter!

Earl Bassett: Doesn't matter. They're all the same: dead weight. "Ooh, I broke a nail!" Ugh! Makes my skin crawl.

Valentine McKee: Yeah, well, I'm a victim of circumstance.

Earl Bassett: I thought you called it your pecker.

That's just a great movie, nothing guilty pleasure about it.

YorkeDaddy 02-22-2015 06:53 AM

Batlord mentioned it but Enchanted with Amy Adams immediately sprang to mind as one if my favorite movies that's also quite cheesy. I've seen that one about ten times. Great film with some great songs, and I'll be the first to admit that I like to drool over Amy Adams in that role :P

Amy Adams is a woman's woman. She killed it in The Fighter.

Related, though not a movie, I can't get enough of that show, Once Upon a Time. Much of the acting is horrendous, the writing is cringeworthy, and the whole concept is retarded, but I love it.

Wow this movie is bad. Yet .. it's also brilliant. I don't recommend watching it stoned as a close personal friend almost suffocated, he was laughing so hard he couldn't breathe. It's also a great source of idiotic quotes.
