Can you give me some recs for something like Eraserhead or just Lynch-like in general. What I mean is the sort of atmosphere that movie creates.

How the **** do you not like Melancholia? Very powerful film.

I'm looking for a dark comedy or five, preferably on Netflix or Amazon Prime.

yes Lars von Trier is not only my favorite director but one of my favorite humans on earth

personally i suggest staring with Breaking Waves and Dancer in the Dark before entering his depression trilogy....and at that you should watch them in order

Anti-Christ (not boring at all!).....
Melancholia (number 2 favorite movie of all time)
Nymphomaniac 1-2 (this was a grower for me....but has moved up in ranks.....i suggest the unrated version if anything for the striking self abortion scene)

when i first watched Dogville by the end of the film every hair on my body was at attention.....

his films beat you....in the way you want someone to beat you

my question......

why the fuck is it taking so long for The Lobster to come out?

also tell Crispen Hellion Glover to hurry the fuck up with the third installment of the "IT" trilogy!

Dude, Dancer in the Dark shouldn't be viewed if you want to ease into anything. That sh*t killed me for weeks.

As for The Lobster, Cannes was only a few weeks ago so I'm going to guess it's in the process of getting picked up and distributed. It had rave reviews. Only a matter of time. I can't wait to see it. I should watch Dogtooth again. That film fascinated me.

I was going to suggest Happiness but I figured he'd seen it. It's also not on Netflix.
