I'm just giving my opinion on it's run at the box office, and I'm baffled that it's doing so well. Perhaps I'm a little harsh on the film, but that's because it's just not my thing, so I have trouble seeing how it's dominating so much.

It had great atmosphere imo, but plot wise it didn't live up to its dads expectations.

Yeah, it started out pretty good.
The antagonist looking like a member of Slipknot, lame-ass ghost children and annoying jump scares killed my enjoyment after about half an hour.

Weekend of August 28 -30, 2015

1. Straight Outta Compton - $13,240,000 - $134,126,000 - 3rd Weekend

Seriously, WTF? I know it barely has any competition for the top spot, but how has it not been dethroned at this point?

2. War Room - $11,000,000 - $11,000,000 - 1st Weekend

From the quick research I did, this is one of those feel good Christian movies along the lines of Fireproof and Courageous. These are impressive numbers for such a film.

3. Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation - $8,300,000 - $170,387,000 - 5th Weekend

This movie is clearly following the philosophy of the slow and steady winning the race.

4. No Escape - $8,288,000 - $10,349,000 - 1st Weekend

Judging by the poster, this looks like some semi-serious action comedy with Owen Wilson in it. I'll gladly pass.

5. Sinister 2 - $4,650,000 - $18,512,000 - 2nd Weekend

Not a bad drop.

6. The Man From U.N.C.L.E - $4,410,000 - $34,122,000 - 3rd Weekend

This movie is starting to show percentage drops per weekend, so this will be a minor sleeper hit, at least.

7. Hitman: Agent 47 - $3,850,000 - $15,271,000 - 2nd Weekend

Flopping as expected. I totally didn't see that coming.

8. The Gift - $3,134,000 - $35,960,000 - 4th Weekend

This is having extremely small drops, which means it's creating a small fanbase.

9. Jurassic World - $3,120,000 - $643,088,000 - 12th Weekend

This is having a small comeback thanks to it hitting IMAX theaters again. It needs all it can get at this point if it's going to beat Star Wars for #1 grossing film in 2015.

10. Ant-Man - $3,054,000 - $169,187,000 - 7th Weekend

Marvel never flops, do they?

There is the slight possibility that it is actually a good film. I know how surprising it might be to find out that the life story of a group/genre you don't like being interesting can be very confusing, but trust me it does occur.

I never questioned it being a good film. It's 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes is proof of that.

Weekend of September 4-6, 2015

1. War Room - $9,450,000 - $24,763,458 - 2nd Weekend

Mixing feel good Christianity with the formula of a Hallmark channel movie is apparently a recipe for success.

2. Straight Outta Compton - $8,850,000 - $147,785,705 - 4th Weekend

Still dominating as usual.

3. A Walk In The Woods - $8,250,000 - $10,309,000 - 1st Weekend

Looks like an adult drama that did poorly.

4. The Transporter Refueled - $7,220,000 - $7,220,000 - 1st Weekend

Not only does it not have Jason Statham in it so I don't care, but even if it did, why was another Transporter necessary? The original three made jack **** at the box office, and that was nearly a decade ago. Let it go, Hollywood.

5. Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation - $7,180,000 - $180,416,692 - 6th Weekend

I'm not exactly a big Cruise fan, but a part of me becomes happy every time he has a hit. It's like a nice middle finger to the media crusade that tried to destroy his career a decade ago.

6. No Escape - $5,448,000 - $18,449,079 - 2nd Weekend

Why do people still like Owen Wilson?

7. The Man From U.N.C.L.E - $3,445,000 - $39,374,148 - 4th Weekend

Still don't have anything to say about this film other than the fact that it's performing like any other Guy Ritchie movie not named Sherlock Holmes.

8. Sinister 2 - $3,432,000 - $23,766,803 - 3rd Weekend

You can tell that it's the slowest time of the year for the box office when the same films keep appearing every week while barely making anything.

9. Un Gallo con Muchos Huevos - $3,421,000 - $3,421,000 - 1st Weekend

Some foreign animated film, I guess.

10. Inside Out - $3,226,000 - $348,299,280 - 12th Weekend

Nice to see Pixar with a successful movie again that isn't a sequel or a prequel.
