Why? The Star Wars movies are meant to follow a family blood line. I know people want the novels to be movies, but if they went away with what made the movies great, people would hate it.

Family bloodlines would still apply if she is Luke's daughter.

It'd explain why the Millenium Falcon was on Jakku.

That's true. I never really figured out why it was there, though it didn't really give any indication as to why it was there except it was "stolen".

It would also explain why Kylo and Rey both have dumbass names if they were named by the same people.

That isn't a good enough reason? It was stolen! Probably lost in a gambling debt is more like it though.

What if they gave Rey a sex change as a baby so that Leia would be happy that she had a brother and sister just like her mom and that's who they kept referring to as their son through the whole movie because they're inconsiderate about Rey's pronouns?
