I've always loved Roy Orbison's Crying but this Spanish version is also amazing. I really must see Mulholland Drive.


This is one of the greatest things I've seen... I could listen to her talk about TV all day.

Absolutely this. The original, Crying, was great, but Llorando is several times better in my opinion and it was used in such an amazing way on Mulholland Drive. That's one of the most emotional points ever for me in a movie. Absolutely beautiful.

I've been curious about you, cardboard adolescent, so I'm pleased to visit your corner.

The philosophy of doing things easily (DE) video was both hilarious in a funny way and yet I feel holds some practical and good advice: be aware of your intentions, your environment, your movements, and the interaction of cause and effect at every moment in your life, in everything you do. This awareness may really make for a fuller life...especially if you get the shot off that kills your attacker before he gets you! I will try to appreciate the act of zipping my zipper the next time I do.

A nice list! The Radha Krishnay song is a very, very happy one! I can't hear these songs without also imagining I am in an Indian restaurant eating vegetarian Indian food and listening to similar music in a delicious gustatory and auditory assault on my senses.

They are singing the same touching song to an audience, but Roy sings in English (and is a man with a backup band), and the movie singer Rebekah Del Rio (a woman) is singing in Spanish all by herself. In both videos, a blond audience member is featured, yet in the second video you can see she is more visibly moved and in a sad way, so the audiences' visible reactions are different. The second video's version of the song holds more tragedy than the first, partly because of the greater emotion I hear in her voice, and because her being all alone emphasizes the loneliness of the song. I actually listened to both videos at the same time, trying to match up the songs, which was fun to do!

I liked this song with its overlapping droning voices (yours, I assume!) and the guitar (which almost sounds like piano) in honor of the Hindu goddess of energy, change, and time.

I think I'm one of those people who can't be hypnotized by myself or others...but that was a soothing song, and I especially liked the energetic guitar at the end.

Do you find that the making of this music was more meditative than the experience of listening to it? I find that being in the flow of doing something such as playing an instrument makes me feel much more absorbed in the moment compared to simply listening to a song, no matter how restful it is.

yes, making music is pretty meditative for me. less so when i'm recording, though.
