Default be careful what you wish for

Only reflections of God can be described
What we see are the smudges on the mirror
God reveals the face we need to see
From His collection of masks

The man who values his individuality above all
Who is enthralled by freedom, and knowledge
Looks to God and sees a cage
He sees cherubim chained to the throne
Constrained to circle and sing tired hymns
He sees a fiery sword
Which threatens to cleave him in two
He sees a perfect being
The impossible end of evolution

The one who places beauty above all
Finds a terrifying beauty
Which does not ebb and flow
Which cannot be chased
Which cannot be shared
It simply is, eternal and static
It will rob his taste for anything else
How long can he endure a moment of beauty?
And where will he go when there is nowhere left to go?

The man who prizes love above all
Finds an overbearing love
Which demands everything
And offers nothing
He finds trials and accusations
He finds the line he dare not cross
He fails his beloved
Shame is all he has left
And still he hears his cruel lover call

But what then, of the soul
Who devotes herself entirely to God?
She sees nothing
And crosses over peacefully

Interesting poem, Cardboard. The last part especially struck me because it reminds me of a poem I wrote when I was 19 or so, called "Being without Belief," which I'll share below:

Being without Belief

Translucence, thin as comet's dust that sprinkles throughout space,
is what I sense when I look up, where others see His face
with kind eyes on our fruitful planet, ripe on Heaven's limb.
I search the sky and wonder, why do I not know of Him?
I often hear of earthly good and people kind and true.
And yet at times I yearn for more, for what a god could do.
Please, Lord, if You exist in truth and touch each person's heart,
if You can bring peace to a soul and give it a new start,
could You remember to search mine and take the time to care
about the feelings I live with when I see Nothing there?

That's a very beautiful poem. The peace is already in every soul, we just lose sight of it sometimes. This too will pass.

I think these two are really cute:

hanuman taco - A Shy Star - SoundCloud
hanuman taco - Tear Your Mask Off - SoundCloud

I released a bunch of these songs on an album in the MB Records Thread.
The link is also in my sig.

Here's a playlist of my favorite Jesus songs.

JESUS

I think I'll make some more playlists and share them here.

Potentially my last song for a while:
