You wouldn't rate lower for an unfinished album or for any album?

Travis Scott - Rodeo (2015)

Quick Thoughts: I don't think I've given this album enough credit. I've listened to parts of it once or twice, but as a whole, I'd say it gives Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight a run for its money.

My rating usually goes:

2 star: didn't finish or didn't like enough to finish
3 star: finished it but didn't like it
4 star: great album but not perfect
5 star: perfect AOTY potential

And half stars are just if I'm feeling nice.

Goofle 12-21-2016 11:38 AM

Your system lacks depth. Like those dudes on RYM who don't give half stars. I know you do give half stars, which helps, but I'd go right down to 0.5.

Did you even make it to America's Most Blunted?

It's not meant to be taken seriously.

The Batlord 12-21-2016 11:45 AM

So you have a four-star system.

DOOM nominated for the best rolled L's
And they wondered how he dealt with stress so well
Wild guess? You could say he stay sedated
Some say buddha-ed, some say faded
Someday pray that he will grow a farm barn full
Recent research show it's not so darn harmful (true)
Sometimes you might need to detox
It can help you with your rhyme flow and your beat-box
Off spite to your surprise
Turn a Newport Light to a joint right before your eyes
Tear a page out the good book, hear it how you want it

Genuine anthem.

Still waiting on that album, Trist. I have no way of listening to it atm.

But anyway...

Have you listened to To Pimp A Butterfly?

Key 12-22-2016 11:03 PM

Of course. It's one of my all time faves.

It is. Some of the better jazz rap out there tbh.

This one is the best though: http://rateyourmusic.com/release/alb...ira-2007-2011/. Definitely check it out, Ki. The rapping is French but it's still great.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 12-23-2016 09:28 AM

damn i was going to listen to it if it was French

The Batlord 12-23-2016 09:56 AM

Guy from California can't recognize Spanish. smh

Frownland 12-23-2016 09:58 AM

More like what's up with a dude named Glaç rapping in Spanish when his name has the French c thing.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 12-23-2016 10:01 AM

French and Spanish actually share a lot in common. sometimes I hear people speak Spanish and I can understand most of it due to the similarities. frown is forgiven.

I hope Batlord's recommendation of Kkkill The Fetus didn't go unnoticed. That's real acid rap. That's experimental hip hop before Danny Brown. In fact, that's part of what influenced Danny Brown. Though, he does have like two really bad sex songs on there.

Yeah his sex songs are the worst, but the rest is solid as ****.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 12-23-2016 11:14 AM

but I recced Danny and Danny is better so therefore who cares?

But you always think current artists are the best, so who cares what you think. Not that I have anything against Danny, just you.

damn you must really be running out of bait at this point if that's the best you have. if anything hipsters tend to ride the dick of the earlier artists. not that you would know anything about hip-hop history aside from Nas, Jay-Z and the rest of the stuff you poor redneck bastards worship.

They do but they also cream their pant over independent artists too.

It doesn't have to be creative if it's true. You dickride bandwagon artists like a mother****er.

Hipsters won't accept Esham because his association with ICP even though he's like the original hipster rapper.

And Hipsters liked Danny Brown before he was big.Though I can't help to wonder if his new experimental album about doing drugs has anything to do with Esham's experimental album from 2011 about doing drugs.

no they didn't. hipsters (myself included) didn't jump on the bandwagon until XXX. i haven't listened to enough Esham to actually have an opinion but Danny Brown is associated with ICP to some extent as well so that's just silly on their part.

you're getting lazy, it's all downhill from here. of course I ride the dick or artists I like, why wouldn't I? it's the age of the Internet, everyone jumps on the bandwagon when a good artist starts to blow up. I'm not going to act like an artist is **** just because they start getting a lot of attention.

Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition (2016)

Quick Thoughts: The music is fine and it's a bit different than I'm used to in regards to hip hop. It's not terrible, but the voice is something that makes me cringe. Can't stand it.

But it's communal dickriding for you. I generally don't see you dickriding artists that you don't get patted on the back for dickriding, and even when you do you don't dickride as hard. Dickride.

Lucem Ferre 12-23-2016 12:04 PM

I like Danny Brown, but he is the Sponge Bob of hip hop.

And I guess the Batlord is saying that Qwerrty needs to take more dick riding risks.

been dickriding Injury Reserve lately and now Ki and JTF like them. also, why would I constantly talk about an artist nobody else listens to on a music Forum? what would be the point of that? if I find a new artist I like I'll recommend them to someone or post about them in a thread and that's that.

I think you're mad you're just not a part of the MB trend setting. deeply sorry Charles but ICP and Nas just aren't Doom and Danny Brown.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 12-23-2016 12:07 PM

I just like riding dicks in general, tell me what's wrong with that?
