the only person you made into a fan was Violet. I was riding Dolly's dick back when you were failing grade 9 math.

He accused you of not being a part of trend setting, yet you've set more trends and he's just been a follower.

Cause it's fun, you dumb twat. Waxing ridiculous about an artist you feel passionate about is its own reward.

if I find a new artist I like I'll recommend them to someone or post about them in a thread and that's that.

I think you're mad you're just not a part of the MB trend setting. deeply sorry Charles but ICP and Nas just aren't Doom and Danny Brown.
I find MB trends boring though. It's all well and good to champion a few artists together, but when it becomes a chorus of the same people saying the same things all the time you might as well just let someone else write your posts.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 12-23-2016 12:15 PM

uh-huh, so we've come to the conclusion. you just hate good hip-hop because you're too obsessed with being different. ****ing hipster piece of trash

also while on the topic of dick riding is Lucem a sock puppet account or does he have some sort of weird little brother relationship with you where he feels the need to back up and repeat everything you say?

Frownland 12-23-2016 12:16 PM

Take it out of the journal, guys.

Quick Thoughts: The music is fine and it's a bit different than I'm used to in regards to hip hop. It's not terrible, but the voice is something that makes me cringe. Can't stand it.

yeah, I can understand that. i think he might just be one of those artists you need to get used to before you really start enjoying him maybe. ive always liked his voice, just another thing that sets him apart from the pack.

I can see why it's enjoyable but the vocals are too "out of place" if that makes sense

It takes a little getting used to. I'm pretty sure you'll come around and do the Danny dick ride in no time.

yeah, i can understand. I'll throw Denzel Curry - Nostalgic 64 at you next. Basically the best dark trap album I've heard. great production and some incredibly catchy hooks.

I found Imperial on Spotify, but not Nostalgia 64.

Denzel Curry - Imperial (2016)

Quick Thoughts: I'm nearly halfway through and I've not been disappointed with any of it yet. This is exactly what I like about hip-hop. The quick verses and the fantastic beats following behind. A phenomenal hip hop album for sure. This will become a regular listen for sure.

damn. it's gotta be on YouTube, otherwise it's a mistake so it should be free to download. if you don't want to go through that then just listen to Imperial, it's not as good but still pretty good. I think you would like Nostalgia 64 more though.

Evidently I love Imperial so I look forward to Nostalgia.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 12-23-2016 12:53 PM

sweet! I figured the high energy flow he uses would be right up your alley, his production is usually top notch as well. definitely one of my favourites artists when I'm looking for that side of hip-hop.

So do you keep a record of recs or did my Esoteric and Esham suggestions get lost in the sands of posts?

I keep a record. I'm getting to recs asap, but i'm also listening to artists I've been wanting to get into. Your recs will come soon.

The Batlord 12-23-2016 01:10 PM

Was just checking. Your lack of an OP list is amateur hour.

Flatbush Zombies - 3001: A Laced Odyssey (2016)

Quick Thoughts: I first heard of these guys when I went to Bumbershoot for free this year and they were on stage before Run The Jewels and Macklemore, and I gotta say - these guys certainly made the show for me. I had never heard them before but I was automatically hooked. This album is fantastic and certainly a strong debut for these guys.

if you plan on listening to them further i would highly recommend their two mixtapes. the album is okay i suppose but it was a fairly large let down after the quality mixtapes they put out. BetterOffDead is a must hear.

Key 12-23-2016 04:24 PM

I'll see if I can find it and give it a go.

Quick Thoughts: I'm pretty sure Qwertyy and The Batlord are the two members here that truly understand what I like about hip-hop. This album is fantastic, and I'm so happy to find that it is 23 tracks long. Nice one, Bat.

Well, this rec is fantastic. That's all you need to care about.

You should also check out Esoteric's Saving Seamus Ryan. It's a gnarly concept album.

****. In my head, I was reccing that album when I posted Donuts. Entroducing is better imo. Both are bomb though.

Oh and you're just threatened by people with better taste than you so you fall back on the empty hipster insult.

My back does legit hurt after a day at work. I live off booze and aspirin.

Listened to any Earl Sweatshirt before? If not, check out I Don't Like ****, I Don't Go Outside: An Album by Earl Sweatshirt. Really give it a good listen. Also check out Mr. Wonderful by Action Bronson. And omg, have you heard any Aesop Rock? If not, you gotta check out Float, Labor Days, Skelethon and The Impossible Kid. So like, pretty much all of his albums, get on that **** m8. I'd advise you start with The Impossible Kid. I also thought Joey Badass's debut was above average (didn't blow me away), but I think you might enjoy it.

Lupe Fiasco is also pretty good, I bummed out Tetsuo & Youth at one point, but never got around to checking out the rest of his discog. But I really liked that album, so give it a go.

Have you ever listened to any Grime by the way? If not, check out Integrity by Jme. Would love to see your thoughts on that, since it was the album that got me into Grime.

OMG and check out Straight Outta Compton by N.W.A.

Do them in any order, whenever you want.
