Freedom
By the end of his trek, he was famished, but starving more internally for answers than more proper forms of nourishment. "Will the time ever come? Must I be stuck in this constant wheel of unproductivity?" His inner monologues plaguing his judgement, and making his thirst for knowledge ever the greater. Oh, how cold it was! Aside from his mental starvation came the biting frost of the outdoors, miles away from modern comforts such as controlled heating. The temptation of just giving up, and creating his resting place was interrupted each time it came up with a slap of reality: his goal could be easily reached with very little effort. Yet, the quick solution's appeal was ever present in the back of his thoughts. "Bah! Fuck it!" Every small attempt he made at approaching the first steps towards the goal ended swiftly and without fruition. But Goddamn I need to finish this paper

Well, we were supposed to be permitted to discuss any which subject in music we wanted.
Here is an idea: Which is your favorite song, of all kinds and by all artists? I would guess that my top favorite song is "Kids in America" by Kim Wilde. The song is lively and it has a great melody and hook. I listen to it several times a day (in different versions by different artists who have covered it). But - if I attempt to be objective - I might have to name "Bang-a-Boomerang" by Abba (Oh! This is so embarassing!). For the last time I checked that song was at the top of my list of "Most Played Songs" in my iTunes program (I never listen to music nowadays except on my iPod (when I am away from home) or on my computer). But I have something like 25 different versions of Kids in America in my iTunes library which I listen to, and only one version of Bang-a-Boomerang! Last edited by galt54; 03-20-2017 at 07:34 AM. |

Re: Yac's Journal:
Incredible variety in Polish music - whether it’s in the Prog of Niemen, Laboratorium, SBB, a.o. or the Polish jazz of Krzysztof Komeda, Andrzej Kurylewicz, Zbigniew Namyslowski, Michał Urbaniak, Ursula Dudziak, a.o. or a sweeping huge mass of experimental stuff (Arszyn/Duda), hardcore (Homomilitia), or death metal (Vader, Behemoth), you could easily put together a 24 hour comp of this stuff. Some vids of more recent stuff. The first was a piece some of you may remember from a few years ago when we used to talk music here and put together compilations for each other. I still love this album. Spoiler for Stara Rzeka - Przebudzenie Boga Wschodu:
Spoiler for Derek Piotr - Amendola:
Spoiler for Innercity Ensemble - Black 6:
Spoiler for Alameda 3 - Późne królestwo:
Spoiler for Bionulor - st.013:
