I ran through the search engine and was surprised by the lack of praise for 2008 release Feed The Animals by Girl Talk. It's so seemless, smoother than my fantasy image of Trollheart's bottom. He mashes in things that are so unexpected but then you feel like you always knew it was coming and you've been waiting for years. I'll admit that novelty is part of the attraction so use in moderation.

Billionaires sharing the earth with starving infants has been a steady constant for quite some while but 2008 ratcheted it up a notch with a global rice shortage and hike in food prices. If you're among the big rich please don't lose any sleep. The rich got richer, as usual.

certainly 2008's A Deeper Silence which is a single 73 minute track from composer Steve Roach is a serious candidate for best ambient album of that year
