Cool Rock song that I can't remember to save my life

Almost positive that it's a rock band that did this song. In the song, there are a few breakdowns that involve strings doing this melody that sounds Led Zeppelin "Kashmir-esque." I'm losing my mind trying to remember who did it and what the song's called.

I'm not allowed to post URLs apparently (until I make 15 posts), but I uploaded a clip to SoundCloud that is a mediocre recreation of the string breakdown, which is accurate enough to possibly remind anyone who knows the song. Including the recreated sound clip was a big part of my post, so that's too bad. There's almost nothing to go off of this way.

Any help is greatly appreciated though!

Thank you!

When do you think the song was released, e.g. during the 70s?
Do you have any guesses to who the band might be? e.g. ELO, The Moody Blues, The Alan Parsons Project etc etc

Time period is a good indicator, I didn't specify that. The earliest it could be is the 90s, while the latest is maybe up to 2010. About a 20 year span where the tune could be from.

Do each of these replies count as posts? Maybe I could work my way up to 15 posts so I could post a link to the sound clip I recreated!

Apparently we don't know what bands or time periods are and need examples of them.

I kind of have a fear that the song I can't remember would be looked at as kinda lame/not respected by this community... For some reason I'm thinking of bands like Linkin Park/Red/Skillet/Muse/Incubus... I don't want to limit it to "alternative rock," but I really feel like that's the style

Mind you, I'm counting my posts up to 15 so that I can post a URL to my recreation of a portion of the song on SoundCloud... Hopefully this isn't illicit, but the clip is kind of important, I don't think the song could be identified otherwise...

Because the rules do state I can only post a URL when I've made 15 posts, correct?

You can post youtube links. You can also pm me the link and I'll put it into your post.
Needlessly inflating your post count to 15 just will get you banned however.

Moderator grindy has affably offered to put the link to the recreation in my post. I'd like to emphasize that this is not a completely accurate representation of this "orchestral break" in the song I'm looking for. It could actually be in a completely different key with different instrumentation, etc. It captures the essence of the identifying feature of the song, at best.

Thanks!
