Did anyone get their new album? I actually bought it because I got a free shirt. They really changed a lot on this album. I feel like their melodies are a ton better on this album then any of the others. As with all of their albums, their beats are just crazy. So discuss...

I merged your thread with this one and changed a few things around.

Anyway, as a Meshuggah fan, I think obZen is brilliant. It seems more varied and adventurous than their last efforts and there's some good songwriting there. I'd say it rates as one of my favourite Meshuggah albums. In fact, I might listen to it again now.

T-up 8/10.
I found this easier to get into than their previous albums(which I'm still struggling with). I did like Destroy Erase Improve a bit, but i just cant follow their other stuff. Too complex for my brain to handle

It's a band full of talent clearly but I really find the vocals too heavy to handle. Have they tempered the vocals a bit on this release? If so I might listen to it.

I didn't like this release too much and it has awful cover art too. Average for me.

Excellent. I dont buy too many metal records nowdays, but Meshuggah just blow the head off me. This album is definatly a progression from Catch 22. Me like

I love Mesuggah because I feel they challenge me and well, honestly, in my taste obzen is a slam dunk.
I heard Obzen and Combustion first and I fell in love even if I feel those are the less complex tracks on the album... but maybe I'll change my mind after a few more listens.

I loved this album. I've been listening to it a lot lately and it's just one of those that seems to grow on you.
