I can say without a shadow of a doubt this beats their old short-album formula. Way more room for badassery than Canada Songs or Hell Songs had.

I honestly think this might surpass their self titled, which has been a fav of mine for f*cking ever.

I also think there's beauty to it just like there's beauty to an extreme of an emotion.

Dude, seriously. There are moments on this album that are really beautiful. I stand by that. Kinda confused how anyone could not agree. Which is not to say that you or anyone else is wrong - just that I really think there's more dimensions to this than just ugliness.

But I still don't think this beats Crumbling as AOTY but I also disagree with /mu/ chuckle****s who think people think that it is are doing it just because Fantano told them to is ridiculous. It's a damn fine piece of work and the best the band's ever done.
It's got some interesting qualities for sure. Like it or not... personally, I can't think of another album that sounds much like this.

I find beauty in all extreme emotions. That includes the kind of sloppy ugly anger that oozes out of this record. I'm just saying that was kind of the point in making the record. If you don't like that kind of stuff, you're not going to like this record.

It's like judging an apple pie contest if you don't like apples.

I need to hear this album, but I haven't yet.

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.

I think the reason this song is beyond god tier is because that guitar riff perfectly expresses sarcastic, fatalistic, apocalyptic nihilism whose hypnotic repetition induces self-indulgent hysteria. It's a tone of voice and a facial expression personified by an instrument and how it is mixed. Monumental.
