Good lord indeed. Having to preface everything is very tiring, but here we go again.......

Of course I meant "In My Opinion" and yes, in my opinion she makes music I don't like or in other words music that I find crappy. And no, I'm not really a pop fan, but it's not like I hate it all or don't give it a go.

I've heard it, I didn't like it, and if you asked me how I found it I'd say crappy. That is all.

DontRunMeOver 06-22-2007 08:58 AM

Marijan, you are right, Rihanna is indeed excellent. I can certainly see what people mean when they claim she can't sing when compared with Christina or Beyonce for example, but that's largely a case of whether people prefer heavily ornamented over-singing (Christina/Beyonce) or more a more simple delivery like Rihanna's. I would say that her real talent is being able to sing such straightforward melody lines, without oversinging or any other vocal affectations yet being completely recognisable straight away.

Yah I definetaly prefer her more straight-forward style to Beyonce and *ugh* Christina. Her album is overall pretty good but Umbrella can get really annoying.

The best song of the year so far!!!

I heard that on the radio earlier. Totally awesome to say the least. It is going to be bigger than umbrella.

MHDTV 06-26-2007 04:54 PM

Yah, it's far and away better than Umbrella.

half_baked87 06-26-2007 07:47 PM

not a fan. i don't get how she stands out from any of the other slutskateers out there. its thoughtless redundant tripe. tripe i say!

lesssalt 06-26-2007 09:40 PM

It might end up being the hottest song of summer, but we shall see.

ShadowsScream 07-10-2010 12:48 AM

Rihanna is great. She has awesome songs.

Kirby 07-10-2010 03:22 AM

I'm actually quite a fan of Rihanna myself.
I didn't realize so until recently that I've taken a liking to her music

adidasss 07-10-2010 04:53 AM

Her last album is quite boring. I hate it when pop-stars start taking themselves seriously.

Goblin Tears 07-11-2010 07:46 AM

I loved Rated R. It had that dark pop sound I like.

mohtaref 07-13-2010 10:47 AM

great song

adidasss 07-13-2010 03:54 PM

Ok, I'm not gonna lie, I really like Hard.

Wormie 07-30-2010 01:56 PM

Hi guys! Actually, I'm here for the metal and classical part of the forum but there is something I wanted to ask you.
My best friend is not a metalhead and as far as I know she likes Rihanna a lot. She has a birthday in August and I thought of giving her a Rihanna CD as a present but, as you might guess, I have absolutely no idea which one should I take and there is noone else I can ask because all my other friends are also metalheads and have no idea who Rihanna is. That's why I'm asking for your help.
Which Rihanna album do you think is the best? Alice (my friend) has no CDs, she's got only mp3s but I'm sure she'll love my present and appreciate my idea.
I've already checked with Amazon, because I have paysafecard vouchers which I'm going to use for this buying but I still have no clue. I've also seen some Blu-ray things.. Do you think it's worth buying?
I also hope this is the right topic to ask and I didn't want to offend anyone, if someone might think that I did.

niknik 08-16-2010 09:26 PM

Pop music usually isn't my thing but i have an addiction to Rhianna ..... theres just something about that girl and no not just cas she's freaking hot lol
Rated R is a awesome album and that Rock star song she did with slash it's been stuck in my head forever ..... im really digging her lately

nylonsmile 09-15-2010 12:46 AM

I didn't really like Rated R.....

...I don't know, I feel like she's drifting TOO much from the Rihanna I've liked all these years. And, yes, I've listened to her since Pon De Replay first came out. I think she needs to maybe take 2 steps back and she'll be good.

Her newest single "Only Girl in the World" is hot. I'm definitely feeling it so far, and she looks gorg on the single cover. First time I've seen her looking pretty with the stupid red hair she seems stuck on.

マイケル 09-19-2010 11:41 PM

What kind of tape is that she's wearing, anyway? It's a little too wide to be electrical tape, and duct tape would hurt...

Queen Boo 11-04-2010 08:41 PM

GOD, this song is so good

Unrelenting 11-04-2010 08:58 PM

New single is amazing

TheElle 12-04-2010 04:57 PM

She has a pretty impressive voice, talented indeed.
I didn't use to like her first songs too much, they were girly, a little bit too girly for her own good.I mean I just felt like she only wanted to send the message of a cute teenager girl with her own problems etc. But starting with 'Umbrella' I can say I like her a lot.
I also have several exceptions like 'Rude boy' which I find too rude. Her last one with Eminem is a real achievement in my opinion. :D

Me approves of the new album. Thank God the sulking phase didn't last long and she's back to making fun music...(:

Goblin Tears 12-06-2010 02:38 PM

I wish the sulking phase lasted forever. I hate her new album, so mediocre and safely generic. I'm glad it's not selling as much as expected. :)

adidasss 12-06-2010 02:55 PM

Arya Stark 12-08-2010 12:08 AM

For the record, I wish I was Rihanna.

Minus the Chris Brown phase.

And I might dye my hair red.

That red.

poppie 12-26-2010 05:59 PM

Yeah definitely. It's definitely hit or miss with people though.

djchameleon 01-01-2011 03:56 AM

I only like Rhianna when she is busy talking dirty....Rude Boy, S&M and What's my name? are favorite tracks for me but other than that....gah I feel like she ruins songs that I would have liked otherwise if she wasn't singing the hook....

She almost ruined All of the lights for me and Here I Am

poppie 01-02-2011 06:38 PM

rihanna i wish you would get away from chris brown!.

Arya Stark 01-05-2011 10:45 PM

She is away from Chris Brown

djchameleon 01-06-2011 12:29 AM

Chris Brown is probably the best thing that happened to her.

LOL... domestic abuse.:bonkhead:

crash_override 01-06-2011 11:42 AM

That is the single most publicity and outpouring of sympathy that she will ever receive, it was the peak of her career. Like it or not.

someonecompletelyrandom 01-06-2011 11:44 AM

She's a massive pop star both before and afterwards. Everybody knew who Rihanna was when it happened, and anybody who didn't is certainly paying attention now. But I wouldn't call it the "best thing that's happened to her". She was a massive pop star when Chris Brown went Chris Brown on her. What new attention or audience did she gain? Maybe a few older people who didn't know who she was? What's that even matter?

adidasss 01-06-2011 12:08 PM

Agreed. Umbrella had already happened, and she hasn't had a hit that massive since...

A lot. She gained a lot from that event. She was the 2nd most popular person in that relationship before that beatdown. Now, as you said, she's a superstar. But she will probably never appear in headlines and news stories like she did when she got beat, at least until she dies. Michael Jackson style.

poppie 01-07-2011 12:21 AM

sorry i ment to post this in here...

i could make her feel like she is the only girl in the world!

poppie 01-25-2011 03:48 PM

What do you think, do you guys think Rihanna is better then LAdy GaGa?
