^ why is it such a big damn deal? if you don't like a band, don't listen. If someone is calling those bands emo, who gives a s*it? it doesn't hurt you, so let them think what they want.

People like them for the same reason some people like pasta and others like steak. Some people like chocolates and other people like apples.

Good for Jack White, his band still produces talentless music.

I happen to like them. They do't sound like GC at all. their live show is exciting and they have good stage presence. I happen to like and identify with the lyrics. Their songs are very catchy and so that draws alot of people in I guess. I like them though.

White Stripes is a minimalist band. They're shooting for a distinct sound and they've attained it, and they keep it simple because that's what's not being done enough. It's not a talent show, it's music, and not everyone is out there trying to prove something.

I actually agree with him. Music doesn't have to be complicated to be enjoyed; however, I still think the White Stripes suck. Some bands I like are extremely simple, but I still think they rock. Ex. Rainer Maria, Volcano, I'm still excited
