Jammy, keep in mind that commercial artists are not the completed artists. The labels grab onto anything that will sell. Also music is about emoition and not all songs should be happy and poppy. There is a guy named Tom Boros who does depressing acoustic stuff brilliantly! Sophisticated lyrically and interesting guitar style. Music for the masses sells and unfortunately these people have no ear for quality. Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, really?

you do know what Karaoke night is about right? drinking, having fun and singing off key. Not about depressing ass shit such a downer

Adele does not make music to please everyone, at present her music has not been 'happy' and up beat like some people want to please themselves when it comes to pop music.

It's not a Karaoke type song and her music does not deserve the injustice of someone singing drunk and out of tune to it either. The one thing that is clear is she has talent and even if you find her music boring, you have to respect that.

you have read alot into about two sentences that I have made.

Nowhere have I said that she isn't talented or that I don't even like her songs. I actually do but they just aren't Karaoke material imo. There is always going to be that one person in the group that is wants to drunkingly sing a sad love song because that's how they are feeling emotionally at the time.

I'm glad they're not Karaoaoke material, the fact it isn't proves she's talented. You have contradicted yourself. You said it isn't karaoke material, yet you say people may feel the need to drunkingly sing it because they can relate to it. Make your mind up! What point are you actually trying to make?

what? re-read what I said, there are two things being said there. that are completely different.

It's probably my fault for not separating to two of them into different lines so that you could tell but there are two different thoughts there.

I'm guessing that you have never been to a Karaoke night in your life. Her songs aren't karaoke material but people will sing them because there are emotional type drunks that love sad songs and will sing it anyways bringing down the mood of everyone else there.
