Taylor's talented - her voice is good, and most of her songs are very good!
I think the reason many people don't like her is because she's tried to merge Country with Pop; pure country fans and pure pop fans don't usually like that.

I think Taylor Swifts' third album "Speak Now" shows great development in terms of her songwriting
A very talented young lady. A very wealthy one, too

i like her songs. but i find it very hard to keep liking a single song from her.
for intance, Love Story was a very big hit here in the Philippines and for like 1 week, i kept listening to it over and over and i liked it a lot. now, i don't like it anymore.
i don't know, perhaps too much radio airplay but it kind of get's overexposed to my ears maybe. most of her songs that is.

I heard Speak Now and didn't think it was anything special at all. While she may have some talent I really think it is more about having a big record company and lots of marketing behind her.

Wow considering how exaggerated her popularity is right now, I can't believe no one has posted about her since 2011. O_o

I don't love or hate Taylor, I think she's the everygirl, seems like she appeals to a lot of people with a variety of music tastes. I have never been inclined to download anything of hers but strangely I have been inundated with requests for her music by my couchsurfers lately; couchsurfers who would normally listen to indie or electropop kinda music. Why Taylor, why now?

"Shake it Off" is a catchy tune but honestly I can't even remember how it goes at the moment. Aaand. I found the music video a little offensive.

Why the heck is she so popular?!

By the way, could I ask a mod to move this thread to the "pop" section?

Her album's good for a pop album. She made over 100 million in concert sales though. Pretty popular to me. She's the biggest female act right now). She sold 1 million+ copies of her album in her first week of release. I like Style, check it out bb.

Can't help but respect and admire how she's been doing in the years since she first came to prominence. (hard to believe it's been 10 years already since she signed a deal with RCA).

In this day and age of almost 24/7 exposure she's managed to keep herself out of hot water and continues to put out good music that her fan base gobbles up.

Now The Bieb on the other hand.....

I guess with "exaggerated" I meant it in the sense of "enlarged or altered beyond normal proportions." She's big, no doubt. I just don't really understand why, I love a lot of pop acts but she could be the biggest thing I'm not into at the moment. Can't say why I'm not interested!

I listened to Style, and I guess I feel kind of neutral about it. :/
