If it were that easy to get a hit that goes viral, that sort of proves my point that most people who listen to top 40 music are utterly stupid and that music like this isn't in need of any creativity. Just marketing. It's making me puke.

I said this earlier in the thread and it was actually 2k that her mother paid for the package.

People that listen to top40 aren't stupid. They just like to have fun which it seems you are opposed to. :P

They don't need or like to be bogged down by silly details if it sounds slightly okay and it's fun to dance to then they like it.

A hit going viral is slightly different, the main reason hers went viral is so that people could get a good laugh and make fun of it with numerous amount of parodies.

In my defence I did initially twig that the picture was indeed making the point that the lyrics told a similar story to A Day In The Life. However such a petty comparison aside, which beneath it all is absolutely ridiculous when you consider the rest of the lyrics in that song. I just made the point that the word 'gotta' was used a lot.

I was actually hoping for some brownie points for commenting on a different aspect of the photo. For exploring a new avenue and perchance enriching the thread for the variety of themes discussed. It was not my intention to fail to deal with the central point of the piece. I felt it was self explanatory and re-emphasising it's point would not really have added to my contribution to the page.

DISCLAIMER: I do not in reality take myself this seriously, I have precious little recollection of my input further up the page but the time of the post suggests I was probably a little baked.

Also I hope you enjoyed this little piece of self indulgent prattle.

Ah no, not at all opposed to fun. But I just think music is to good for that
I mean, I don't mind people having fun whilst dancing to music, but I do mind that this music is the only music you'll ever hear...

you might have forgotten but not everyone is into as music as we are around these boards.

The people that listen to the radio and top40, just do it to have something going on in the background or something fun and poppy to dance to from time to time they don't care about the details of music like we do.

it's not so much the marketing and manufactured image that bothers me, it's the vapidity of the content

I find it really hard to jig with current Top 40.

Top 40 is mostly annoying, not fun. There's only "fun" in a few odd songs (e.g. Party in the USA, , Sean Kingston's Replay.
