Also, get your facts straight.

What evidence do you have of that?

HAVE you not seen Obsessed?

where are these facts of yours that she can act?

perhaps he meant about acting like a mad girl screaming female world domination (see her latest video Run The World Girls).
performances are also considered acting, isn't it?

I don't see many women act the way Beyonce does.
I know people LIKE her character in Obsessed, she played it so well, she pulled off what she had to beautifully. Have you seen Dream Girls?

My facts were on JLo's dancing career. You can't produce facts from an opinion of someone's acting abilities, whether or not you or I believe she's a good actor has no bearing on everyone else's opinion. BUT, I do personally believe her acting was very realistic. The storyline itself was hard to believe, so there was only so much she could do with it.

Well Beyonce can act to a degree, she acted like she could be a postive female who relied on talent over sexuality for years.... only to go solo and make videos where she is half naked covered in water and flaunting her body... she pulled off the talent thing for years.. so she gets some credit for acting.

She just can't act in movies.

i got you. honestly, as far as her acting skills is concerned, she's definitely not yet mature for such roles especially on her role as Deena in Dreamgirls. She lacks that 'realness' in her when she acts, its as if we're seeing a robot read a script outright. emotionless to say the least.

but i still love her though. if there is one person that has made so many songs that i really like and that probably only few singles wherein i don't like it, it's got to be Beyonce.

I don't understand this statement.
She was often seen as a sex symbol, along with the Michelle and Kelly in Destiny's Child. "Cater 2 U" and "Soldier" are two perfect examples of them flaunting themselves. "Soldier" is a PERFECT example of a song where sex and "what's in" is far more popular than their talent.
Beyonce is writing plenty of songs that are not only proof of her talents, but ones that have videos and talent that flaunt her sexuality. And people are loving what she's doing.

People often act like a star in anyway sexual is selling out or hiding their talent, but there's a perfect middle ground, and I believe that Beyonce has songs on all parts of the spectrum. So she can dance, so she has a nice body, what the hell is she supposed to do, wear baggy clothes and sing with a mask on? She's beautiful, and people would notice even then.

It is a stab at her kinda feminist ideals she had in the DC days, a case of how she could be sexy without being overtly sexual. What I am saying is, she in those days was about saying how she can show she an be sexy without having to be half naked and covered in water.. which of course in and of itself is a sexual thing when looked at as a metaphor i think...

In the DC days it was more about being a positive role model for young girls, and showing them in a time when sexuallity was being used so much to sell, that one can still rely on talent and not just sell based on sex appeal.

beyonce was sexy and a sex symbol, but i do not think she intended to be one like that, she was made one by the people.. and it was not her original intent.. at least not to the degree it became later.

However, it seemed once she went solo and even more so when Jay-Z came into the equasion that that shifted and she started dressing down more and relying more on sexual imagery than she did before. She still had talent in many regards, but it was also starting to become more and more about the sexuality behind it that was selling her in her videos.

That is all i meant with my comment. To go from that young woman with feminist ideas and being sexy without being overtly sexual, to the opposite later. Makes me think maybe the early image was a put on for the later image which was maybe what she was more about, but was just saying she wasnt for the sake of appearing to be more of a role model than she actually was.

I think I just need proof of whatever you're talking about.
What intensely feminist ideals did she have? And what intensely opposing ideals does she have now?
