I do it all the time. I see that an album of someone's is coming out, download it and only listen to it months/years later.

Caramella 12-26-2013 03:11 AM

And I like her, she's got nice and soothing low voice. And really original songs.

SamanthaTL 12-27-2013 01:41 PM

I love Lana Del Rey.

blindmymind 02-05-2014 07:50 AM

I don`t think she wanted to be that commercialized, but it`s happening and the more people listen to her music the more they judge her. She is talanted mostly because she creates those songs, it really doesn`t matter that she is not good at performing on stage. If you listen to Damien Rice you can say as well that his voice is not that good, but he wrote some of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard.

A few days ago I found her cover of Nirvana`s song - Heart Shaped Box and it really is amazing, people should give her more credit for the way she performs rather that her musical skills. The songs which are the best in my opinion are not famous at all and Carmen by the way sounds like a song written about Marilyn Monroe :)

Goofle 02-05-2014 07:55 AM

I'll have to listen to that Nirvana cover.

Scarlett O'Hara 02-05-2014 09:20 AM

I will too, and she's talented for sure. I have her songs in my head all of the time.

Brando_Music 02-07-2014 06:01 AM

Lana Del Rey has that genre that you really have to be in the mood for. I can't get myself to listen to her casually to be honest.

If someone does not wish to become commercial, they do not artificially modify their body/appearance and musical style to fit the will of mass media. Just saying.

I actually just listened to the cover and it's actually not bad at all. She definitely kept the ''Nirvana Spirit''. The girl has a great voice.

Scarlett O'Hara 03-25-2014 02:43 PM

I just want to say I adore Lana and am obsessed.

SoloSong 04-14-2014 01:19 PM

I missed her concert. I liked her, but do not think I would bear 2 hour of her singing without any breaks

lindsaymeow 04-16-2014 11:01 AM

She's unique

but I'm still not sold.

Xurtio 04-16-2014 02:42 PM

I can appreciate her in snall doses. I like Video Games, Blue Jeans, and Carmen. I find her songs actually quite immersive.

DwnWthVwls 05-21-2014 10:07 AM

I really like Lana and The XX.. I like her depressing and provocative lyrics.

Born to Die and Bel Air are my 2 favorites.

Scarlett O'Hara 05-21-2014 05:25 PM

I love her new single:

Scarlett O'Hara 05-27-2014 12:14 AM

Yay another song is released:

Xurtio 05-27-2014 09:07 AM

I like the West Coast track. Love the changes between the two movements.

Cuthbert 05-28-2014 12:31 AM

Has her new album leaked yet?

Scarlett O'Hara 05-28-2014 02:35 AM

Not yet, I've been checking most days. It is meant to be released in May so it may be out in a day or two.

Goofle 05-28-2014 03:48 AM

Shan't be listening before it leaks.

Sparky 05-30-2014 06:41 PM

So she didn't retire

Did she say she was going to? She better not, I'm selfish and I need her music.

Sparky 05-31-2014 05:09 PM

yeah she was considering it for a while about a year ago or so

Cuthbert 06-11-2014 06:48 PM

Ultraviolence is out tomorrow and it still hasn't leaked :(.

Absolutely worth it. I just wish the album had bigger beats

She's always worth it. My friend said that when he listens to her new album he feels like he's drunk (but isn't). I can totally jump on board with that. I actually feel like although she is covering similar topics to her earlier work, I love the dreamy tunes. I can never stop listening to her, she has this voice that just hits my body which relaxes and my mind floats.

Goofle 06-15-2014 04:09 AM

Fantastic album, truly.

Yeah, her lyrics are corny (though much improved from earlier work) but my god, some of this production is incredible.

Cuthbert 06-15-2014 10:49 AM

Sounds like dis is big riddims. Need to give it a listen.

Well that sounds really nice! I might have to try that.

Scarlett O'Hara 06-15-2014 11:54 PM

Links?

I have got Ultraviolence (the song) in my head all day, it's really good. She has a different way of describing relationships sometimes. I would like to ask her how she came up with this track.

misspoptart 06-16-2014 09:27 AM

Lana del Rey: I wish I was dead already.

Yiiiikes.

really feel like ultraviolence lacks a lot of the passion of her first release, and at times feels like she's just trying to do the same thing over again, but not as well. that being said, I do agree that the production on some tracks is absolutely phenomenal. good album, but not great.

Goofle 06-25-2014 11:53 AM

It's great to me. But I do understand the repetitive comment. If it wasn't as "samey" I'd have it as a 5* album, but right now I am wavering between 4 and 4.5.

I give it a 3.5. I do love it but yes the content is repetitive. It would be nice to have a little more fire in the record. The production is brilliant, her vocals are brilliant and it's the only thing I'm listening to right now.
