A beautiful voice is a beautiful voice, raspy or not. I personally like a little rasp, but then again, I was raised on Bob Dylan.
|
It's not her raspy voice that turns me away. It just all seemed fake and forced and meh, I just don't like her and her voice. She gives off hipster vibes to me and yeah like I said it might be irrational but I just don't like her.

She only came out in 2012. Katy Perry and others were doing that style way before her. Katy Perry's album with her new style came out in what? 2008? A whole four years before Lana was even on the scene. |
Katy doesn't count. She dabbles in every fashion; her image is that of a chameleon, whereas Lana's image has more or less stayed the same.
|
I think you are confusing Lana's importance with Amy Winehouse back in 2007. Still before Lana was around.

shes hot and i like her music. some of the really slow songs i dont like
|
Didn't hear any new song for a while or I missed it? Any collaboration?
|
She's still working on her album I guess. A song leaked in August but that was about it.
I guess she's moving away from her dreamy style of pop with the upcoming album. |
some songs i dont even like at all but some songs of hers i like a lot

My Goodness, Blue Hawk, use spoilers plz. We already know she is handsome. :)

That's exactly how I would refer to her as well, as handsome. |
every time i see you posting in here i think to myself..."my god he has finally seen the light" :)
|
I'd refer to her more as a hauntingly stunning classic beauty.
|
meh she's starting to overdo it with the plastic surgery
|
I still don't get her music but she's gorgeous
|
She looks like The Amazing Colossal Woman.
|
She's very pretty.

Maybe one day. Keep hope alive! |
I love her first two albums and she has some great unreleased material too. Her last album Honeymoon didn't do too much for me. She seems like a nice girl and I like that about her. Hopefully her next album is decent.
|
Ultraviolence was my first album from her, I really enjoyed. I really like the vibes she brings to the tracks. I really liked parts of Honeymoon! To me she always has a few songs every project that become instant favorites, while I'm much more eh on the rest of the album (compared to those tracks). When everything clicks her music sounds amazing tho! Definitely a dope artist!

i really got into her first album.. the ultraviolence was nice too. ill go listen to her music now :dj: |
Her last two albums are her best.
|
Guess I will take the plunge and listen to all of her albums.
I'm such a masochist. |

I've started listening to her albums again and they still make me melt. She's about 30 plays off being my #1 most played artist (Aesop holding it down atm). |
I have to get over my irrational hatred. I played two songs off of Born to Die and shut it off. I also probably just wasn't in the mood at the time.
I will make a second attempt today. |

nah dj, this site needs us and our anti-Lana ideas. stay on the dark side.
|
I'm not saying my opinion might change but I have to at least push through the torture and at least give each album one listen.
|
If Lana Del Rey is torture, then chain me to the wall!

I think basically the only songs I like from Lana are Video Games, Blue Jeans, Carmen, Ultraviolence, and Summertime Sadness. Kinda Outta Luck is kinda cute. Will listen to any suggestions, but have gone through a lot of her songs on Youtube and other songs either just sounded like a lesser version of the above or they're just ok.
|
I have a lot of conflicting feelings about Lana Del Rey. Her lyrics can be extremely repetitive but at the same time, I kind of like how consistent she is. I love her whole Priscilla Presley aesthetic.
I do wish she'd do more uptempo songs (and use her upper register more) rather than the monotone mournful wailing she's been doing lately. I don't know; she does have some objectively bad songs, but I can't help but like them. Especially Serial Killer. One really has to be in a certain mood for them, though. They're perfect if, say, you're drunk on gin by a hotel pool in a robe while smoking cigars and brooding over ex-lovers or whatever. Favorites are definitely Off To The Races, The Other Woman, Yayo, Serial Killer, Black Beauty, Old Money, National Anthem, Terrence Loves You, and Teenage Wasteland. |
i listened to her songs twice in the last week..
about 1/3 of her songs i like |
A singer with the same voice?
|
|
I really hope this will not be another Honeymoon 2.0. Please let there be at least a few up-tempo songs on this album...
