the man is the best thing that happened to progressive music in a long time...however I don't get his obsession with Israel, it's pretty weird...

The upcoming tour with King's X should be sweet.

Alright, I'm new to this forum (first post actually) and if there's one thing to be known about me, it's that I idolize Steven Wilson. The man is such musical genius it's disgusting, definitely the Beethoven of modern progressive rock music. And yeah he's extremely pretentious and self-satisfying, but that doesn't mean the music he makes isn't amazing!

Anyways, just thought I'd mention Porcupine Tree has a new album coming out, although that's probably old news to a lot of you guys. But yeah he says that the album is going to be comprised of a single 55 minute long track, and there is a possibility it will be a double disc album. So one disc would be entirely devoted to the single song, and the other disc would have the song broken apart into seperate tracks plus a few additional songs. And all that is due to be released some time in September! I'm extremely excited and curious to see how it will be different from FoaBP; maybe a departure from the heavier music? Who knows, but I have very high hopes for this album!

If anybody has more information regarding the album, or any other Steven Wilson project I would be most pleased to hear about it!

Rock on music fans!

I really don't like this guys music or production. For me the Wilson Opeth albums sound so dull. As does Porcupine Tree's albums. I love the video where he owns Mikael at a prog quiz though.

I like Steven. I don't call him genius but I admire his ability to have many music projects and make more music styles. It fits to my diversity so for me his music is something what I was looking for.

What do you think about his solo album Insurgentes? Is here somebody who likes it?
My fave songs are Harmony Korine, Only Child and Abandoner.

And what about NSRGNTS RMXS - Insurgentes remixes?
My number one is definitelly Abandoner - Danse Macabre Mix.

I haven't yet heard the Insurgentes remix album and there were only a couple of tracks from the original album that grabbed my attention. Venemo Para Las Hadas was my favourite off the album.

Insurgentes is fantastic.

How many projects (ones created-so not production jobs or featuring on an album) does the man actually
have? I can't seem to find a reliable source...
