The Lack of Tool Threads

There isn't enough Tool threads here, so I'm gonna start one. Feel free to praise or diss them. If you like them then say some of your favorite songs by them. Tool happens to be my favorite band, so I'm gonna say some of my favorite songs by them: Aenima, Eulogy, Sober, Flood, Opiate, The Grudge, Lateralus, 46 & 2, Undertow, among others.

Soundgardener 03-21-2005 05:07 PM

yay! those are all good songs because you got me into them anyways...
:hphones:

I gotta add SChisM though...

hookers with machineguns 03-21-2005 05:10 PM

I did you the service of looking up the Tool threads, there are seven including this one. just FYI.

My favs: Sweat, Part of Me, Hush, Opiate, Hooker with a penis, and 46&2. Mmm, I cant think of anything else to say.

PopIsDead 03-21-2005 05:15 PM

Oh yeah, I forgot about Schism.

Soundgardener 03-21-2005 05:16 PM

Stinkfist is a good song also. I think it's one of the singles off of Aenima....could be wrong though.

PopIsDead 03-21-2005 05:27 PM

Yeah, Stinkfest is a single off of Aenima, and it's also a good song. I bet next you're gonna say talk about Prison Sex.

Urban Hat€monger ? 03-21-2005 05:29 PM

Milly/fox is a tool & it`s making loads of threads

PopIsDead 03-21-2005 05:46 PM

Oh, I forgot about Jimmy and Pu****, more good Tool songs.

Warpig 03-21-2005 05:48 PM

hooker with a penis. song aside, that's a beautiful song title
:)

PopIsDead 03-21-2005 05:50 PM

Thanks for your help hookers with machine guns. You seem to be a fan of the album "Opiate".

PopIsDead 03-21-2005 05:55 PM

The song "Hooker With A Penis" is perhaps better than the name.

*ding ding ding

correct-o my friend.

PopIsDead 03-21-2005 07:03 PM

Tool is my favorite band and Radiohead probably my second favorite band. APC is good but I think they're getting worse as they go on. Mer de Noms was one of the best albums of the past 5 years, Thirteenth Step was a step down, and their newest cd is just okay.

PopIsDead 03-21-2005 07:24 PM

What's weird is that Opiate is the only Tool album that I don't have, besides Salival which is almost impossible to find. I was, however, to be able to steal the song "Opiate" off of a mixed cd that I borrowed. That's an awesome song.

hookers with machineguns 03-21-2005 07:27 PM

oh man, if you're a tool fan, you're missing out. Opiate's only got 6 songs, but it is well worth it. My favorite, personally.

PopIsDead 03-21-2005 08:01 PM

Yeah, I know. I want Opiate so f*ckin' bad. I've heard that its an awesome cd by more than 10 people. Unfortunatly, my parents are dipsh!ts and won't let me by any cds.

TheBig3 03-21-2005 08:35 PM

im a huge fan of parabol/parabola, ticks & leeches, Eulogy, stinkfist, H, prison sex, sober, and lateralus.

I've seen them twice, and they are really good live, but they don't play what everyone wants them too. That aside, the video screens are almost as good as the music.

Invisible Spider 03-21-2005 09:32 PM

Their okay..

Jaz 03-22-2005 06:56 AM

I only recently discovered A Perfect Circle only because I heard their song 'Passive' in the movie Constantine. They really remind me of the Cranberries in some ways? Does anyone agree? Ahh oh so melancholy, they have a cool website http://www.aperfectcircle.com/ I've not really heard much of Tool, I'm downloading some of their songs right now though...

hookers with machineguns 03-22-2005 09:29 AM

How did you not hear about APC and Tool for so long? And, no, I don't see the resemblence to The Cranberries AT ALL. Please elaborate (although I'd recommend you to listen to more APC and Tool before making that comparison again).

Well EXCUSE moi for having a personal opinion. The reason I likened A Perfect Circle to The Cranberries is not as elusive as you make out. I'm not saying they are exactly the same sound, but there seems some similarties in my opinion. Especially if you listen to the 'No Need To Argue' album. The fusion of lingering vocals and instrumentals bares an uncanny resemblence to them that's all. If you don't hear it then hey not my problem ;)

For the same reason you haven't heard of 'Nintin Sawhney'. What a question :D Believe it or not the music industry is VAST and one person is not able to listen to every artist or band in their entire life time. Well anyhow I do love their music, I'm glad I've finally got around to listening to them. I make no apologies for my ignorance I'm afraid ;)

PopIsDead 03-22-2005 05:31 PM

Yes, all those songs are very good.

riseagainstrocks 03-22-2005 05:58 PM

schism is th only song i really got into. they aren't bad though. i'd pay to see them live probably

PopIsDead 03-22-2005 06:25 PM

You should check out some of their other stuff; it's awesome.

PopIsDead 03-22-2005 07:32 PM

Tool and APC are quite a bit better known than "Nintin Sawhney" although you may not realize this.

PopIsDead 03-22-2005 07:36 PM

And who says I haven't heard of Nintin Sawhney?

Dont be so sensitive, I never attacked you for having a personal opinion. But like you implied, you havent heard enough of APC to make that kind of comparison. I still don't see any similarities.
BTW, I never said anything about *Nitin Sawhney (not Nintin Sawhney), so I don't know where you're getting at. APC and Tool are immensely popular, I was surprised you were not familiar with their music until now. You're the one that concluded your lack of awareness of those bands = ignorance. Honestly, I don't see why you are offended.
