Default Tool/A Perfect Circle

I did a quick search but couldn't see a similar thread.

My ex-girlfriend put me onto Tool about three years ago, and we travelled down to London to see them. They put on one of the most impressive shows I've ever seen, and as a result I went out and bought the records. I love their whole approach to music, from the covers and artwork to the videos, which are among some of the best I think there's ever been (another thread in itself). But the music is sometimes just too dense for me. I can't put it on and relax to it, it's very difficult to do. A Perfect Circle on the other hand, sure the whole approach isn't as innovative and exciting, but again they put on a wonderful live show and as a whole their two albums have been incredibly easy to get into.

What do others think?

Well your comparing 2 bands that have extremely different sounds to them.
Tool are the kings or hard rock. Their powerful riffs and strong overtones in their lyrics make them one of my favourite bands.
A Perfect Circle is the more soft, melodic version of Tool. Songs like 3 Libras and The Noose are perfect examples of how well they play soft songs.
But seeing as The King, Maynard James Keenan, is in each of these bands, they are both skyrocketed to the top. MJK is a God and thats all there is to it.

i havent seen perfect circle live...seen tool twice and it made my year both times....

personally i think that expecting a particular reaction when you put an album on is the wrong way to approach it...just lie down and let the music do what it does....some of my most relaxed moments have been while listening to lateralus...every time you listen to it imagine its your first....expect nothing....

it works for me

Thats so hard dude, i like 'em both
If i had to pick though, i'd go for Tool, album-wise, Tool seem to be a little better

I love Tool, and I love PC. I can relax to both of them, my favorite albums being Laturalus (Tool) and The thirteenth step (PC).
