thanks for this thread. i have enjoyed all i have listened to so far (Yes, Gentle Giant, Camel, Wishbone Ash, and Comus). I already knew of Jethro Tull and Pink Floyd.

Do you still need some Camel? I have Breathless and Rain Dances. Both are great albums.

I don't have Caravan, which is a band I probably should have. I don't have a lot of the essentials so this thread was pretty useful.

I did adidasss a favor and upped him a few albums of both Camel and Caravan, so that's why he's got 'em.

Thanks to Anteater, Boo Boo, Comus, and Toretorden for making this. It already has been much help to me as far as understanding progressive and one day It'll be even more help when I decide to try and "acquire the taste".

Recommended starting place: Per Un Amico (Also known as Photos of Ghosts),

I checked the upload link and it still seems active.

There's tons available about them via Google, so here's a quick Youtube to convince you that they're in the upper echelons of Prog (even if a tad on the Genesis-alike side);
