I'd give my left arm for something like a King Crimson "Union"-styled studio album. Get together all the surviving baddasses since KC's inception back in the '68 and put together the best album since Discipline.

Bruford is in my top 5 fave drummers on any given day.

I mean, the Close to the Edge album? Come on.

Heart of the Sunrise is simply a bonus.

King Crimson Celebrates 50th Anniversary With Surprise Release, 2019 Roll-Out Plan

Quote:
50 tracks, 1 per week featuring a new, rare or alternate take from across the KC catalogue and available via all major download and streaming services
Each track will be accompanied by a special spoken word introduction by King Crimson manager/producer David Singleton.
I think that this is a trial balloon for putting the rest of the KC catalogue on streaming services.

I was there when it happened. His guitar tech André Cholmondeley started searching around for another whammy bar for his Parker Fly guitar. Adrian had quite a laugh about the whole thing.

After much deliberation, Starless and Bible Black is my new favourite KC album. Except for Trio. Imagine having Bruford at your disposal and not taking advantage of that. smdh

Revisited 2003's The Power To Believe recently. Flows a whole lot better than I remember, and Fripp's guitar work is extra jazzy.

I still think The First Day (with Fripp and Sylvian) is basically a King Crimson album for all intents and purposes, and I've been spending a lot of time with that one. Just grooves so well.

I'm surprised you prefer S&BB to Red, Frown. Or maybe not. It's an interesting one, maybe their strangest recording besides Larks Tongues In Aspic.

I prefer Damage, the live recording. Anyway, I also really like this line up and also consider it basically KC. Sylvian can be a bit boring, but he works really well in this context.
