It's a combination of your lazy, narrow and biased arguments, your lame puns and the smirking expression in your avatar which haunts me everytime we have a discussion.
On what level are any of my arguments lazy? In the prog thread, correctly saying that something is "Art-Rock" is pretty much as far as I can go in a genre-based argument. And saying that I can't enjoy the wall due to my personal opinion is pretty valid considering music is subjective, especially considering you started here expressing knowledge that a lot of people dislike the wall.

You come off to me as an elitist music nerd, and considering that last picture you used for your avatar, that's not far off.
I like Pearl Jam, 'nuff said.

Frankly your harrassing, know it all attitude is pretty grating, especially considering you get pissy whenever you're called out and are so obviously wrong. People wouldn't be so abrasive towards you if you just went "Ok, well you're a ***" instead of going "waaaaa if you weren't making a valid point I'd give you an infraction"

I have no problems with your taste, in fact your tastes are probably more similar to mine to anyone else here. I'm just annoyed by your attitude.

And I don't get angry when people correct me, I get angry when people insult me instead of correcting me. I openly admit to making mistakes, and all you have to do to get me to admit to them is to point them out. But you've insulted me for my subjective opinions more than a few times.

Either way, thats all I had to say, lets not argue. I already know you don't like me, I just want it to be known that I'm not a fan of you either and that as long as we're in close proximity we probably need to find a way to tolerate each other. And I'm trying really hard.

I'm fair enough to admit that you haven't done anything to warrant a ban, a warning or even an infraction. I'm just asking that you tone down your provocative behavior just a bit, I'm only asking, I'm not demanding it.

Especially when the musical mood of the album isn't that different from Animals. It's very different from other Floyd albums structurely. But it's still very much a Pink Floyd sounding album. Personally I think it's better than Animals.

I like the album a lot, I don't think it's there best or even in my personal top three and maybe the fact that it's often one of their highest regarded and most acclaimed albums by the popular majority that irks the fans.
I just can't believe anyone would think it's their worst album. I don't know how an album with Another Brick in the Wall pt 2, Hey You, Comfortably Numb, In The Flesh and Run Like Hell could be the bands worst album. What with Ummagumma and all.

The Wall features several classic tracks and holds up stronger on singles then DSOTM. It has a nice flow from start to finish and there is no song that's completely unlistenable even all these years later.
I hate Vera and Bring the Boys Back Home. Those are the only tracks I hate. I like to listen to the album all the way through but those I always skip. They should have kept What Shall We Do Now? in there.

I still love all the singles, but also the deeper tracks. Waiting for the Worms is awesome.

Overall it's probably my 5th favorite Floyd album after DSOTM, WYWH, Meddle and Obscured.

Agreed, I also don't like these two, but I appreciate the rest.

I can easily understand how people don't like the album, there are a lot of "ugly sounds" on it. The Wall without the story it tells and just as a collection of songs fails (imo), so you need that story-perspective in order to enjoy it I think.

If you're gonna hate on the album for being depressing, that's fine, but if I catch you raving about how "hauntingly beautiful" Joy Division's Closer is. I'll be calling bullsh*t.

I understand that there's other reasons, but that one never made sense to me. It's a good reason to not like it, it's NOT however a good reason to call it a horrible album and one of the worst things the band has ever done.

If you're the kind of person who hates The Wall but likes Ummagumma, I just plan won't ever understand you.

They claim that after that there was no creative power, just the same old stuff. I dont even disagree with them, because they obviously are not worth debating. Either that or have never picked up an instrument and have no idea what talent is.

I don't think it's that, because that is a pretty ridiculous thing to say. The band evolved much in the 70s, every album was different and their sound was entirely their own.

No, it's that they turned into a prog band, with a more polished sound, lyrics that actually had some kind of comprehensable meaning and a guitarist whose idea of a solo wasn't just making weird noises at random.

I still like Syd era Floyd. But Piper is only like..... my 8th favorite Floyd album.

Ah but you are not understanding the people I am talking about. The kind of music fan who can listen to 2/10 albums by a band and already know what the other 8 sound like. Basically just blind elitism. As to what most people think, yes your correct, rehearsed solo's and slid song structure is not some peoples cup of tea.
