Pink Floyd

I dunno if there has been any PINK FLOYD threads...I know there has been Pink Floyd related threads, but he deserves his own...so lets chat Floyd.....or shall I say PINKY!
My fave album/movie is The Wall, mainly because it is really political and brings up alot of issues, depending on your interpretations.... :usehead:
anyway, enough rambling.....go! :band:

Jerryisagod 04-02-2005 06:10 PM

Wouldn`t this post be covered under the 'Which is your favourite Pink Floyd album' thread?

Anarchy doll 04-02-2005 07:06 PM

nope, this is not a question of what? it is a thread for open discussion about Floyd...what the lyrics mean to you....what are your fave parts in the wall...you know

Urban Hat€monger ? 04-02-2005 08:04 PM

Yeah but all you said was The Wall is your favourite album. That could have gone in the other thread. You wanna start a Pink Floyd debate then start it off, i`m all ears.

Soundgardener 04-02-2005 10:09 PM

If you love it so much how come you cant spell it?

SATCHMO 04-02-2005 10:33 PM

Bim skala Bim does a great ska cover of The Lunatic is on the Grass which is the song "Dark Side of the Moon". That may be what you're talking about.

KingJen 04-03-2005 09:41 AM

Dark side of the moon has to be my favourite album. It's just one whole mash of experimental goodness. I love it. Infact... I'm going to put it on now.

Jen xx

Anarchy doll 04-03-2005 11:18 AM

well, ok Urban...lets hear your veiws on the Wall. The movie...I thnk that is a really good look at the way children are raised to be machines and by-products......
and what an effect stardom can have on the child who was bound within.
That's very vague huh? Well, just YOU give ME a topic and we'll go with it....

SATCHMO 04-05-2005 08:40 PM

I'm wondering if they have it in em' to pull off another big tour. Probably not. I saw the last one 10 yrs ago, and it was mindblowing to say the least.

Anarchy doll 04-05-2005 08:42 PM

I'm sure they do....let's all cross our fingers!

That's got to be "Dub Side of the Moon" by 'Easy Star All Stars' (various artists)

It's a complete re-working of the original playlist of Floyd's 'Dark Side' with some alternative versions added at the end - it's a brilliant homage, and has so far delighted all the old heads I've played it to!

Easy Star is a NY reggae label, and apparently the concept was a long term dream of it's CEO - you'll get it at amazon.com no problem . . .

You can't really compare pink floyd and korn, I like both myself personally, but theyre semi-different genres of music, korn are nu-metal, pink floyd are british prog-rock, but fair enough man(or woman) if you like korn better that's fine by me (it might not be by anyone else though.)

I agree they are definitely one of the best if not the best prog-rock bands.

rock on!!!

lilbloodredridinghood 05-08-2005 04:15 PM

I think they made the song Money because they were told that they needed to put something out there to catch the mainstream ear, and perhaps they didn't like the idea of that, thus "money" was written to spite them. That is STRICTLY my opinion on it, DO NOT respond to this reply saying "that's so wrong, youre so wrong" I never said I was right, I AM NOT saying I am right. That is just the vibe I got from that song, is all.
