Pink Floyd Reportedly Set to Release New Album This Fall

New album set to be released in October. I'm not getting too excited for whatever they release, especially since Roger Waters' presence on the album hasn't been confirmed yet. I pray it's not Division Bell Part Two, Division Bell can suck my division balls.

Roger Waters hasn't been on a Pink Floyd album since 1983 and suddenly it's a problem?

If anyone has actually read into this album it seems like it is more of a swansong for Richard Wright with much of the album coming from his input on The Division Bell recordings and not a Dave Gilmour back slapping project.

I think people forget that the last 2 albums with Waters were essentially solo projects too and yes The Wall is ****ing crap 90% of the time.

Well I prefer Pink Floyd doing Roger Waters solo albums than Gilmour Floyd or Roger Waters solo albums. I would prefer a more Wright oriented album than Gilmour, Wright's got the best solo albums of the bunch barring Syd Barrett.

The Wall and The final Cut are genius. Momentary Lapse and Division Bell...not so much.

The Division Bell is definitely not their highest achievement. The only track i like is High Hopes... Momentary Lapse of Reason (while not being as good as most of the earlier albums) has some really fine tracks such as Learning to Fly and On the Turning Away

I must say i like this album a lot. First time I heard it i was in bed in the dark with headphones on. I got so many chills at the beginning of Dogs of war.

Does anyone else feel like Floyd are ripping people off/creating false hopes? This is not, by all accounts, a new album. It's unreleased, unused footage from the Division Bell sessions. Most of it is instrumental and will probably reference back that album. I personally loved TDB, but if Floyd are going to "do a new album" I'd much rather it was new material rather than stuff they couldn't have been bothered to use in the original recording and are now pushing out for people to pay for. Seems a bit "money-grabbish" to me.

No High Hopes. I expect decent instrumental album.

That also made a perfect excuse for thousands of fans to zone out in a theater and watch the film!

It's a great film!

Best part of Live at Pompeii for me was the footage of the band in the studio working on DSOTM. Watching Waters actually come up with the sequence for On The Run is just too cool.
