Ah but you are not understanding the people I am talking about. The kind of music fan who can listen to 2/10 albums by a band and already know what the other 8 sound like. Basically just blind elitism. As to what most people think, yes your correct, rehearsed solo's and slid song structure is not some peoples cup of tea.

Indie fans in other words, condsidering most of the indie crap they like is exactly the same. I hate fans who only like Piper, while it's definitely in my top 4 I just don't understand how you could dismiss masterpieces like Animals, WYWH and DSOTM

I have to say I've never understood why Wish You Were Here gets put in the "masterpiece" category so often. It's not a horrible album but I do think it has some major flaws. Definitely not one of my favorites by them.
