Greenday are probably the most important band of the last 15 years as far as punk rock goes. They have tried to ive the music back to the people. While American Idiot is a possibly failed attempt at prog rock (jesus of suburbia etc) the album finds them at their best since Dookie. Mike Dirnt is probably the most under-rated bass player ever. Too many bands try to be Greenday (Bink 182, Sum 41 etc.) who are both good bands in their own rights. Recently saw them live in Dublin and have to say it was the Best Gig I have been to since Big Country's Final Fling Tour( check out the DVD) which was the best live show i ever went to.

Lets not get carried away. Think about it, how have Green Day changed 'punk rock' at all?

you are sooo...right, Mike Dirnt is so underrated and he has such talent, and Billie can write some amazing lyrics and the music is mediocore in his department, while Tre always manages to deliver great drumming....hey and by the way, have't heard from ya in awhile! Message me soon Irishpunk huh?

Hahahaha...I got my tounge peirced when I was 16 for my birthday, my dad signed for me, but I had to pay for it myself...had it since and still love it, I'm 20 now, and I can safely say that I am not the only one who loves it....lol!

You're a pretty funny person irishpunkfan. So was that a direct quote from Carson Daly or did you come up with that yourself?
