Wow. loads of people don't seem to like Minor Threat. My opinion has fallen on all these people drastically!

Its not really as clear cut as that, The Sex Pistols were a brilliant band but its easy to see how someone into stuff like Black Flag just wouldn't warm to it. Yes they were an important band for punk, but that doesn't mean its ESSENTIAL for one to like them to like punk.

Then say it b/c punk isn't one single monochrome genre - it has many varieties. Just because someone likes late 70's UK punk doesn't mean they will like late 70's US punk or even like 80's US Hardcore punk.

I personally do like all 3 sub-genres for various reasons & I do like Sex Pistols as well as the Ramones. I just prefer the Ramones...
