The Sex Pistols are one of my favorite bands, but the Ramones made alot more albums.

I know cause the Pistols are all over MTV and every Ramones song is just so new and fresh.

Punk wasn't about being good, it was a 'anybody could do this' thing

I have to go with the Ramones on this one. While I respect what the punk/new wave movement did to shake up a stagnant/boring music scene, I expect any band to have a decent level of musicianship and be able to play their instruments. Shock/adrenaline/spitting on fans/screaming profanity, is not enough for me to get into a style of music, I actually pay attention to the songs and the music,,,IMHO.

agreed. ok so i get all punk bands are repetitive, but the ramones sound was so darned average and irritating after two tracks..

The Ramones were fun. The Sex Pistols were... depressing?
