I don't see society as pointless infact i see it as near inevitable given that man has evolved as a society, it is simply that todays society is one of Hypocritical Values, False Absolutes, and Restriction of Action. Humans are highly networked social creatures and as a result of this the values which we adopt are based on the society we exist within and based on what goals we are trying to acchive, The Redutction based methodology of Nihilsm teaches us that no value is absolute as we have to adjust these values to fit our ever changing enviroment so our values can be said to be in continual flux.

But the society we exist within presents us with an impossible self destructive code in which to live our lives, a code based very much on Hypocritical Values which can easily lead one to concoct such false absolutes as Religeon, infact in such a state Schizophrenia is likely as ones own Values is restricted by the "false" enfourced values of those in power and hence become two people, who you really are, and who you have to be.

With more concoting their own false absolutes and Dogma's, with more seeking peace the only way they can (self destruction). its a world of absurdity that one must change in order to survive!, that is why a Revolution would have point..and that point being for the sake of ones own survival,

The Philosophie of Nihilism is questionable as is everything in life, but there are aspects to it which allow us to discard of false absolutes go on to live a healthier yet still limited life, Death is inevitable but so many bring their already limited lives to an end through either a Slow Death (Alchahol, Drugs) or a Quick one (Suicide) this is not natural to man but a result of the diseased society we exist within, the only logical thing to do would be to act!.

I put Nihilism and Anarchy in the same Context not because of Practice but because they both share similar enemies.

And the original reason for me mentioning this was because some Punk music expresses almost Nihilistic concepts.

Didn't Nietzche condemn Christianity as "nihilism" because it took away the importance of living life and instead said that the only point of life was to go to heaven?

I always thought that the core tenent of nihilism was the futility and meaninglessness of life, and that Nihilism thus would not see any point in living a long, healthy life, as you have suggested.

In any case, there's different definitions of Nihilism, but with all direct references of "nihilism" regarding punk music, it has always been an almost self-destructive, **** the world attitude (see Sid Vicious).

Hey, gap has some good cloths. You can't be picky on what you wear unless you have money.

Ive been punk for about a month because my friends anre all into bloody Cradle Of Filth and were trying there hardest to get me into it but i wasnt interested. They were bugging me for weeks and i just turned around to my mate ash and said that theres moreto music than just Cradle Of Filth and he wouldnt believe me. So i went out looking for better stuff to listen to and everything just steered me towards punk, so i gave it a go and god dammit i like it! Soon after i bought the Punkorama Boxset and ive liked punk ever since. Well, enough of the lifestory, lol
