I concur

Something about those drums which are just hypnotising, great song. Tried to do a cover of this a few weeks ago, but stopped as there was no way I could ever do any justice to the song!

most of the 90's stuff onward is rather electronic, the best of the lot of them for me would be Reformation post-TLC, although nothing comes close to the Grotesque/Dragnet/Witch Trials era.

Default Best Fall LPs?

Taken me long enough but finally got into The Fall in a big way, starting to plough through their huge back catalogue. 'Fall Heads Roll' is the latest one I've picked up, right up there with their very best I would say.

What's your favourite? Any you don't like? 'This Nation's Saving Grace' I would say is (just) my fave of those I have, 'Extricate' probably the weakest.

Most of the stuff post-brix I don't have alot of time for, the rest is even game basically.

1. Grotesque
2. Live At The Witch Trials
3. Dragnet
4. Slates
5. Wonderful blah blah blah

Levitate has a lot of those elements on it, but it's far from a great album in my opinion. As far as the Fall's forays into techno go, I'm much more a fan of the Infotainment Scan and Middle Class Revolt myself.

Speaking of which, my top 5 would look something like this...

The Infotainment Scan
Fall Heads Roll
Hex Enduction Hour
This Nation's Saving Grace
Grotesque

"Early stuff" eh?

Only got 'Grotesque' of those. I've tried to spread the 9 or so LPs I've got thus far equally over their "phases", had 'Dragnet' lined up as my next buy actually, also waiting for 'Hex Enduction Hour' to be delivered from Play.com.

Well I have had all the albums up till Brix WOnderfull blah blah for quite a while, only recently acuired the others, but I don't see much in them. Not a fan of the electronics/techno elements they brought in. Fall - Slurred lyrics - Heavy Bass = Perfection. i.e. pay your rates

I think The Unutterable is my favourite of their new albums.
