i believe this to be the most ignorant statement on this whole web site, open youe eyes and ears dude PUNX NOT DEAD, IT'S JUST PASSED OUT, and by the way not all punk musicans are talentless obviously if a punk band has fans they must be doing something right.

its true, ive seen and played with punk bands that could cover just about any blues/jazz/metal song that you wanted them to and do it just as good as the originals.

ithinkmybabyisacommunist 05-18-2006 09:19 AM

yea most punk musicians, thats all they do is play thier instruments, and go to shows and drink

the guitarist for Malignus Youth has written and performed music with a 20+ orchastra section, it wasnt punk by any means but it definetly displayed his talents as being both an awesome guitarist and a very creative music writer.

ithinkmybabyisacommunist 05-18-2006 09:25 AM

well i cant say I've preformed with a 20+ orchstra section, allthough it would be interesting to hear as well as play in

Hey xholx why the x's in your name? are you actually edge or are they there cos it looks cool?

i agree with you that there are amzing muscians in punk (i.e. the minutemen, jello, sturg, refused, ect.) but they are over shadowed by bad punk bands like rancid. i dont even consider them punk. punk is supposed to be undergound and unsigned but no one listens to those bands. i post underground bands all the time and no one reponds or I am crtisized (sp?) for only listening to those bands. when you see afi videos on myspace you know its dead. its played out. all people want is money now.

how punk is it to be talking on a forum. the people here are old guys who are punk but arent involved in the scene anymore or kids from the suburbs who only can get bands at the mall.

if you notice im only here while at work, this old guy is involved in the scene. I help bring touring bands here, find them a place to play, a place to sleep, make sure they get paid fairly before they have to head to the next city. I help with promoting the shows as well as designing flyers, websites, album artwork for new local bands. Ive been in a band since i was 15..(thats 14 years for those who cant do the math)...
