You stole my favorite band *gasp*. Seriously though, Okkervil River is better than every band that that guy mentioned.

Well ****hole.
# 1.Glenn Allan Anzalone is not the only member of the band Danzig. And also he may sing like Jim Morrison, but he sings a lot better than you and he could kick your ass anyday. Not to mention he single handedly created two genres of music.
#2.Kurt Cobain's death had nothing to do with his heroin addiction, and it doesen't make him lesser of a person just because he was addicted to a horrible drug.
#3.Alice in chains is one of the greatest bands of all time, Jerry Cantrell's guitar playing is unparralled, and Layne Staley is one of the greatest vocalists of all time. Also, I'll state it once again: Drugs do not make you lesser of a person.
#4. They didn't always wear flannel, And there were four members of the band two of which were extremely skinny. Not to mention the fact that Gary Lee Conner is one of the best guitarist's of the nineties.
#5. I'm glad you haven't heard of Static Grim you wouldn't appreciate them.
End of story, you obviously have terrible taste in music and you are a complete dumbass. Also, I would prefer if you left me alone for eternity.

Kurt Cobain was on heroin when he was shot dumbass. And lesser of a person? Go back to school.

First of all this has nothing to do with you, Second you must be ignorant, because heroin causes numbness and extreme drowsieness not suicide, so Kurt would of been extremely tired and numb when he shot himself.

Oh my god are you that much of an idiot? He was on enough fucking heroin to kill a horse, thats why his 'suicide' is so questioned. Maybe you should do a quick read-up on something before posting about it. It had alot to do with his death because he probably woundn't have gone through it so well even without being shot.

Cobain's heroin, (morphine), blood level was 1.52 mgs per liter. This would require a minimum injection of 225 mgs of heroin, three times a lethal dose, even for a hardcore heroin addict! The drug Diazepam, was also found in Cobain's blood system.

Using your taste to look at music is the most biased way to look at music. In other words, it is 100% opinionated, which means he can't be dumb for listening to a kind of music.

Now I am not targeting this just towards you, but towards people that judge music while using the bias of taste. Why can't music be judged on a more universal standard such as skill and originality? IDK maybe because people don't care about that anymore. So without using taste, I will judge your bands.

1. Danzig 7/10
2. Nirvana 3/10 (They ripped the Melvins, what did you expect?)
3. Alice in Chains 6/10 (Umm what exactly did they do for music that was so special?)
4. Screaming Trees 6/10 (Same as above)
5. Static Grim (No clue who they are.)

See now instead of arguing how cool these bands are, we can argue on a much easier base like talent.

based on talent, the orginal danzig line up should have a 9/10 after the line up change 5/10.
yea nirvana ripped the melvins, and the pixies.
and as for doing something for music, since when do you have to do something amazing to be a good rock band?
what did metallica do? what did led zeppelin do?
so while you are right about basing things on talent ,your wrong in your assumption that you have to be amazingly influencal to be good.

A band is a band through all its generations. So what is the average of those two fractions. ZOMG it is 7/10 O_O.

You amazing is obviously not my amazing. You have to something good to be in a good rock band. Many bands out there are original or technical in some way, therefore you must raise the standard of amazing to things like Mozart and those genius's. Excellent is like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and King Crimson who were technical for their time and were both original in what they did. Good is very broad scale with many bands across the board including Rush, Radiohead, etc.

Influential in Thrash Metal, but I consider Metallica to be in the good scale.

Already explained.

No, you just have to be amazingly influential to be amazing.
