You mean without The Ramones The Clash wouldn't have begun recording music until the mid-90s? How did you reach that conclusion?

The Ramones were first. Clash and Pistols idolized them. But, when the Pistols came out they blew away the Clash and the Ramones... they were top dog but were only around for a short time

I don't know if it's because of this thread, but a few nights ago I dreamt that me and some friends got into a fight with a gang because they preferred Ramones over The Clash. Certainly as good a reason to fight as any, n'est-ce pas?

Well the Ramones are wayyy more punk than the Clash. The Clash is really good but they really only had a few punk songs. They were kind of like the gateway to alternative punk music. I think that both are equally as good though.
