Things get mislabeled like I said earlier. Happens with every genre.

A lot of the bands mentioned here are not hardcore.
Sure, if you want to say Black Flag, Minor Threat etc are the beginning of Hardcore I guess I'd back that. But in my opinion that's just punk and real hardcore started with bands like Agnostic Front, Sick of It All, Madball etc
The one thing I love about hardcore is that it rarely changes and never dies. With the exception of some of the bands that have "evolved" into metalcore such as Hatebreed.

The new hardcore bands that are coming out are amazing and they're not only keeping it alive but making it bigger.

Check out these newer hardcore bands: Trapped Under Ice, Reign Supreme, Bad Seed, Brace War, Incendiary, Born Low, Back Track msg me for more new or old

Violence Against Violence! Let The Round Up Begin! A Firestorm To Purify!"

"Retribution, from my hand!"

Dystopia and Tragedy are hardcore. Angry, pissed-off and in a horrible mood. Loud, nasty and abrasive. Painfully tortured vocals. Musically very coarse, blunt and passionate. Dystopia may be a little slow for some, but to me they're totallly hardcore.

This is ridiculously good and as good as my beloved U.K Hardcore bands from the same era (1983):

^Good call, you're the first person I've seen mention them here, I think. I have had that album for a year or two but don't listen to it nearly enough unfortunately.

Tragedy, yeah sure but Dystopia I always thought of as crust punk.

I gotta speak up, a lot of different things are hardcore, it goes through phases and waves, times and sound changes but the people stay the same( minus the new-heads commin to shows in their moms minivan) . Now i cant speak for the rest of the country , but in Philly all the old hardcore kids are still there going to shows and ****, lets face it ,minor threat, youth of today, madball, bane, shattered realm, H20, one life crew, blood for blood , the list goes on and on and on, hardcore is a scene as well as a genre , so with some of these bands look at it as hardcore kids making hardcore music.

But yea **** those rock and metal bands wishin they were emo or hardcore
