The surviving works from early eras fit through a narrow window. This music is more accessable to both players and listeners than pieces would have been at that time.

I really don't have anything here. How about this,
Classical compositions aren't real hardcore.

That slow metal crap has nothing to do with hardcore.
It fits better among thrash or death metal.

Slow metal is neither death nor thrash. Chances are it would fall under doom.
