You mean do greunge, prog, and thrash metal? I don't know. The point is to take the genres that don't have one, and create one for ourselves. But at the same time, there was never anything against doing the ones already taken, I guess.

How about, we start with one of either grunge, prog, or thrash. Those or the only ones I can think of.

Personally, I'd prefer punk.
It was a joke lol

I'd say do prog. The big four for it aren't as definite.

I know, but I still wouldn't consider tackling it.

The conventional grunge Big four is Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden I'm guessing?

Yeah. I don't think pearl Jam should be in there personally.

That's the official one.

Grunge: Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden.
Thrash: Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer
Prog: Pink Floyd, Yes, Genesis, King Crimson

I'd rather start with ones that haven't been done.

I don't dig em but I've got to give them credit as one of the leading proto-post-grunge bands.

Yeah, but everything after their first album sucks. Nothinges has come close to ten.

Even Ten is pretty mediocre.
