we are! hee hee. elvis played 'black' music but thats just the sort of music he liked/could play. he wasnt doing it to sound black like the people that are being referred to in the thread. so you could say he opened up the way for people like the clash.

I must be one of the few people that hate the first album.

Mmm, I wouldn't say I hated the first album. It just wasn't as good as London Calling.

Sandinistas ?

Good or crap ?

I kinda like it, I know about 2 thirds of it is rubbish but it`s a triple album & costs the same as a single. So in my opinion you get a great album for what you pay for with a free double album of messing around on it.

Well thats how i see it anyway

I liked the first better than 'Give Em Enough Rope'. Best of the lot - 'London Calling' and personal favourite tracks are; White Riot/Spanish Bombs/RockThe Casbah/Jimmy Jazz/London Calling/I Fought The Law.

I think the only songs I like on the first album were Janie Jones & Police & Theives.

I seem to remember Joe Strummer saying the best thing about White Riot was that it`s not on for very long.
