Another reason to hate green day (alternative, indie, punk, rock)

i cant blame them though, honestly..sounds like Lookout dropped the ball and wasnt giving the artists what they were owed. Any professional musician would of done the same.

At the same time Green Day is making MILLIONS of dollars a year. Lookout is pretty much responsible for there success early on and the fact that they would turn around and betray there roots bugs me alot.

ya, i guess i look at it differently, i see it as lookout owes most of their success to greenday, more so than vice versa. I dont think greenday is screwing the company, it sounds like the company was screwing the bands. Lookout sold tons of GD albums and im sure got paid a pretty penny because of it, even bands like GD deserve their fair share of the profits produced by the music they make. almost like the DK/alternative tentacles fiasco where the dk royalties were going back into AT and not into the musicians pockets where it was supposed to go.

I wouldn't sleep well at night if I knew that my withdrawal bankrupted the label that got my band going. Especially if I'm sleeping with money bags as pillows. But, I guess that's why I'm not cut out for the world of business.
