I think since Ill Communication they have been slowly getting worse & worse.

I don't think they've had an original idea in something like 13 years now.

Shame really.

Pails Boutique, Licsense to Ill and Ill Communication are my 3 faves.

I personally don't think they have ever done a bad album, but then again they have done only 6 albums in over 20 years. Thats pretty damn lazy.

I love this group. I'm a little surprised that they get so much credit for Paul's Boutique and I think Spin listed Check Your Head (lol) as the #10 album of the 90's. Ill Communication smashed those albums into the ground. Ill Communication is definitely one of the best hip hop albums ever, with tracks like Root Down & Flute Loops, and lots of great instrumentals, as well as a few great punk songs on it. Hello Nasty was pretty good. I like all of their albums, but to me Ill Communication is by far their best.

Paul's Boutique...

Track 06, The Sound Of Science...

The guitar riff sample in this song is used to absolutely brilliant effect. The odd thing was, I knew it sounded really damn familiar when listening to the album but I just could not for the life of me place where it came from. I even started thinking the Beastie Boys had invented it. It felt REALLY weird and surreal.

Then a couple days ago I listened to Abbey Road for the first time in like over 10 years...and it finally all made sense.

It's strange how deeply a musical part can become lodged in your brain, such that even when hearing it entirely out of context for the first time in many many years, it still provokes such a reaction inside of you.

I've always had kinda written them off, but this guy finally convinced me to listen to Licensed to ill and I loved it. As said up here Brass Monkey is quite a good song, and if you haven't listened to it I would give it a whirl.
