most people that like the rappers that are socially conscience don't go out to clubs/dancing.

you can't dance to a song that's heavy/deep and trying to make you think....maybe they can but it just doesn't work that way nowadays....you either have a catchy club banger or you have a deep seeded message within the lyrics...the beats are usually totally different between the two so it's not as fun to dance to

That is very true. I wish the two could be put together a little better. Although i dont like how the club bangers are soley based around just having a good hook. Which is why most of them suck.

from your list I would say eminem but Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five or Gorilla Pits would be on my top list.

Eminem es mi preferido! maybe him or akon, fity aint so hot now a days, last album was kinda disapointing. 2pac is one of the best too. but i'll have to stick with eminem on this one.

Tupac's dead, so he's automatically off the list (read the thread title). Akon's a gimmick artist, listen to his voice. He's just a trend that will hopefully pass soon. 50's last album was a flop, but he was doin it big up until then. 50 has catchy tunes, but he has shallow, typical rap lyrics "I got shot 9 times, I'm a gangster, I sell rocks, I get bitches, etc." Eminem is definitely up there, but we'll have to see how his new album is when it comes out later this year.

lil wayne is a beast but not as consistent as jay-z his rhymes are either amazing or horrible he still aint dropped anything even close to the blueprint but thats just my opinion plus i ain't all that bling bling rep your hood music no more anyway
