OK the easiest way for me to say this is: I hear a lot of Hip-Hop through my son and music channels. Kanye West's music has never ever stood out for me; to me, it sounded no different to anything else. Talib, Busdriver etc DO sound different, so I like them and NOT Kanye. I don't like him. Get over it. There was not a comparison between Kanye and The Game. I was pointing out that I like some commercial rap I.E The Game that's all.

I could care less whether or not you like him. But to compare him to really any other commercial rap artist out there today is, stupid.

Just because you can choose two songs that are polar opposites doesn't mean that the two musicians are not unarguably similar. They are. By your logic no two rappers can be compared to one another. In fact, apparently I couldn't even say that Kweli is similar to...Kweli. Listen to "Guerilla Monsoon Rap", and then listen to "Joy". They sound nothing alike. The subject matter in Kweli's and Kanye's songs are essentially identical. Religion, politics, marijuana, etc.
I was simply stating that the style that each individual uses are incredibly different.
Kanye can be described as a "bubblegum rapper", he's more of the Fresh Prince of today,
with Talib being Big Daddy Kane.

No, really, if you hate him or like him I really don't give a f*ck. You're an old man who likes metal, it would be difficult for me to take you less seriously. What I am saying is that Kanye is in no way comparable to any other mainstream rap. You insinuated that he was, you are wrong.

I can pretty much argee with this. I don't think that "Get 'em High ft. Talib Kweli" or "All Falls Down" or "Through the Wire" could really be considered bubble gum rap. I do agree that they rap differently, thats because they're two different people. Still, it is essentially the same genre. Alt. Rap.

You have me down to a tee, young man. Very insightful. Read my post's, threads and opinions on music, and then get back to me.

I don't care if you are a liberal, a socialist, and a humanitarian philanthropist. You are also a Nazi Jew killer, thus your opinion is irrelevant.

And yes, I did just compare Nazi jew killing to metal music. In fact, Nazi jew killing might just be more bearable than that screeching terrible music.

To compare Kanye West to Kweli is ignorant.

Kanye West is terrible. He is a fine producer and he samples great music to make the beats he produces memorable. He is not intelligent or talented, has no class and can't flow.

If you like his music, it's because the beats remind you of good music because that's where he got them from.

I would not say he's all that much different from commercial rap artists in terms of content, though his sound as I mentioned is distinct.

That's incredibly insulting and a long ways away from humorous.

Also for the record Winger > Kanye West

To say that Kanye and Kweli are not comparable is ignorant. Listen to them.

Or just look at any website that lists similar artists to a certain artist. I would put money on the fact that any website wil list Kweli, Kanye, and Common as similar.
